pont35cpe
Anyone know about this item? VACUO DEFROSTER I`ve had this thing about 30yr, was in a box with a couple other items from a swap meet. It has a 2-blade fan and a heating element just behind the grill, and vac port with shutoff valve. Cord has a inline off/on switch. 3 1/2"dia suction cup on the back, kinda rotted. I`m familiar with the Trico fans, but not one like this. I`m 73 is this item older?

Guest
So does the fan work on vacuum and the power is only for the heating element?

Thanks drwatson, what a deal, 89cents, and a 3digit phone number. 13 minutes ago, Gunsmoke said: I'd pay you the $0.89 for it! Cool gadget. Gunsmoke, thanks for the offer, but i think i`ll keep it. This is one of those things that there may not be another.
pont35cpe
I just took this thing apart to rewire. Just the heat element, no resistors. I suspect 6 volt only? I need to find a 3" suction cup, any suggestions where?
TerryB
Look at glass install tools for the suction cup.
Larry Schramm
You might look at a craft shop like Joanne's or Michael's. Maybe a dent puller could be repurposed. Look here. https://www.google.com/search?client=opera&q=suction+cup&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 Edited November 30, 2021 by Larry Schramm (see edit history)
pont35cpe
I finally found a suction cup i can modify(cut the stem off), same diameter, then install with 2 sided tape or contact cement.
