are you interested?

No.

Sorry if you thought my comment indicated interest.

It's a  high-mileage, low-interest car, and I think you should pursue what seems like a good offer, all things considered.

Good luck with the sale.

Tom, we wish you all the best in your sale.

I agree that you should take the $2800 offer.

In the car collecting world, it takes several decades

for most cars to become desirable to collectors.

A few specialty cars are desirable as soon as they

are made, such as 2002 Ford Thunderbirds or

modern Chevrolet Corvettes.  Next in line are

convertibles, which will attract a bit of a following

even before they're 25 years old.  Luxury cars and

high-powered sports cars (and your Buick is sort of

in the luxury category) may attract a small

following before becoming antique if they have very

low mileage and especially if they have 2 doors.

Your sedan might be desirable to a small contingent

of Buick fans if it was in near-perfect condition and had,

say, 40,000 miles;  and even then its value would be modest.

I don't mean to disparage any car, but that's just what

the market is.  The typical 1950's sedan, though interesting,

is still an underdog and inexpensive.  My 1970's cars are just

coming  into mainstream respected collectability, though

I've been enjoying them for quite some time!
