Firewheelz
About seven years ago my father and I picked up this script in a lot of many other badges. It was only after I saw a Davis Divan in person that year that I realized what this may be. I reached out to an enthusiast who had multiple Davises through time & his son asking if it looked to be original, and they believed the badge was real from the photos (first 2 photos among others). However, I’m still skeptical if it’s real or a replica. Any help in determining the authenticity of it would be greatly appreciated! I have more pics of it if needed. Why would anybody make replicas of a Davis emblem? 95% of the people have no idea what it is. That is real. I would screw it to the wall in the garage with a picture of a Davis next to it.
vintage1
I saw a Davis a couple of weeks ago in Amelia Island and that emblem you have looks like the real thing to me.

trimacar
Yes, it’s real, I have one that’s identical which I took off a Davis I used to own. Neat item, rare, but rare doesn’t mean valuable. I once offered my emblem for $250, thinking that was a bargain, no takers nor interest. Off car #13 which was the one I owned. 1947 Davis, 17 made, it was a scam, fellow just trying to sell dealerships with no intention of building cars in quantity. Three wheel car, egg shaped, one seat which would seat four, removable hardtop. One wheel in front two in back. Powered by a sad Hercules engine, or better a Ford V8. I’ve done some more research on the whereabouts of each car, and it looks like this one is from #10 since I got it in Hannibal, Missouri. Opposite side of the state from the Kansas border but it’s the closest Davis to it and happens to be in pieces.

trimacar
No, I didn't scrap a Davis, it still exists. I may be wrong on number, I thought it was number 13, but I owned it 30 years ago so details may be wrong. Last I knew it was in North Carolina with the fellow who bought it from me, it may be somewhere else now...
