36 Series 40 Water Temp Sender

Does anybody know the thread size on the water temp sender hole? We finally got the last of the old probe out today and the threads have taken a beating.

I have a new temp gauge for our Roadmaster and I am sure it is the same as the Special. I will be out to the car in a day or two and will check and measure it. You may get an answer sooner, but I will check.

 I do not know the answer to your question, but may have the answer to why it is,

/was a problem. 

 The rocker arm stand directly above the sender and each spark plug is a THROUGH hole.  If someone sometime had the rocker arms off and did not use the proper shorter bolt in the stand above the sender it can go through and bind the sender bulb.

I think they're a pretty standard size. I didn't trust the gauge in my 35 Buick so I mounted an under dash temp.gauge from the local parts store and it screwed right in to my block.
