trimacar
So, this posted on a license plate site, I suggested it might be a steam car license and I was ridiculed. Don’t care one way or the other, comments? Boiler inspection?
Terry Harper
That's really interesting and quite a mystery. Usually steam automobiles were exempt from boiler licenses. (locomotive engineers were exempt as well) Any idea what State this was issued in? My thought is that perhaps the boiler inspection bureau somehow found itself in charge of automobile licenses steam or otherwise? Very interesting find. JV Puleo
Might it have been for a steam traction engine or steam roller? Several years ago I was offered a real "steam roller" for free...all I had to do was move it... it weighed about 5 tons.
