bubba
Did Buick ever make a push button transmission like chrysler with the buttons on the dash around 1961-63? A friend of mine says he drove one years ago that his neighbor had. Was he drinkin' and drivin' ???
Redrob
We had a '62 LeSabre and my Grandpa had a '63 Electra, and to my knowledge, Buick and GM never produced any push button automatic transmission.Does anyone else remember anything different? Sgt Art
I think that was unique to Chrysler.

Centurion
1956 Packards also had this feature, and, if I'm not mistaken, some Rambler models were also equipped with pushbutton automatics.
NTX5467
The Edsel "TeleTouch Drive" was in the steering wheel and I believe used an electric motor to do the shifting. Chrysler and others used cables.Pushbutton shifts were basically outlawed when the federal regulations for a uniform shift quadrant went into effect with the '65 model year. Also why GM cars ceased having "R" below "L" probably.Enjoy!NTX5467
Highway_101
I know this doesn't answer the original question, but I wanted to add my 2 cents. If memory serves, I once drove a 1958 or 1959 Mercure Park Lane that had a push button trans.
