carbking
Question was asked in another thread about does modern fuel effect neoprene fuel valves. I started the new thread because I believe it to be an important issue, and did a tech/history article on it years ago. The article may be found here: Carburetor fuel valves We have found ethanol fuel will eventually degrade either neoprene valves or Monel steel valves. But the mean time to failure is longer with the neoprene valves than with the Monel steel valves. The removal of the "staking" step in the manufacture of the valve seats is much more destructive to the neoprene valves than the ethanol. Jon.
