Guest
I want to get one of those lifts where you put one car up in the air so you can park another car under it. It seems like there are a dozen companies selling these lifts. Can anyone make a recommendation?
1937hd45
Can't recommend one, but my dream garage will have one. This will be a two story barn with a lift in the center, it will have a turn table fabricated so cars can be lifted to the top floor turned and placed in storage. Lift will return to the ground floor and the doors will close in the celing and restoration work can continue on the ground floor shop. All I need is that one winning Lotto ticket. R W Burgess
Bob said he could use better Hershey weather next year too. Gotta get those sales up Bob. Advertizing!, That's it, Flashing lights, cheerleaders, that sort of thing. Anything's better than that "pond" he made me stand in this year to converse with him. I'm pulling for you, Bob! Guest
Look into a STINGER. That's the brand name.JEB
Ccar
After looking at several different makes and talking to people that owned them, I picked the "Stinger" made in Kansas. Check out their ads in the car publications.
The Old Guy
I bought the Eagle One ,and it is a well built unit. I am very pleased with it's operation. It also has aluminum ramps, ao it is easier to load and unload.
ronbarn
I have a Backyard Buddy and have been very pleased. It sits on the floor with no permanent attachment, thus if I ever get another car that requires extensive chassis cleaning, in about three hours I can disassemble it and move it outside for that work. Also like the 12 volt power unit. Did not have to rewire the shop to assure power for the lift and when people come over can quick disconnect the hydraulic hose and move the power unit to a locked closet. Be sure that the lift has very positive locks in raised position. A friend bought one so that he could store one car on top of the other and that's just what he did. The day after installation he found the top car sitting on top of the MG-TC below the lift. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/icons/frown.gif" alt="" />
The Old Guy
The Eagle One can be supplied with either 110 or 220 motors for the hydraulic pump. It also has wheels which allow you to move the entire unit just be attaching them and rolling it where you want it.
Al Smeraldo
If you only want it for storage and light work the drive on lifts are ok. However if you want to do more extensive work a frame contact lift gives better accessability to the underside. I have a Rotary (brand name) and am very pleased with it.
