Guest
This will give you some idea of your challenge. I think what you see on your car is all you have. The Fisher Body Service Manual will give you illustrations. Someone may have some patterns and I wish you good lick in locating them. https://forums.aaca.org/topic/236038-1929-fisher-body-wood-patterns/
John_Mereness
Highly recommended: The Fisher Body Service Manual will give you illustrations Keep asking around - someone has been there before you and still has their original patterns If you need to big wooden sills that the body platform sits upon/is built around I would guess any body style would get you close to start revising - same with front door posts and windshield header. And, any cabriolet wood parts would help too with lower structures.
Guest
Note that left and right are not always the reverse of each other. Even if you get patterns make cheap pieces first before cutting expensive wood and finding that you cut it too small.
Gary1944
I have a 1930 5 passenger sedan that I am restoring with the same issue. I have carefully and meticulously removed each piece and have made several new pieces with white oak and poplar.....very time consuming but will be worth it in the end. Send me your info and I can forward some pictures.
Gary1944
I have referenced the Fisher body link as well, good graphics no measurements and a few other articles.
Michael J. Barnes
How far back do the Fisher body manuals go? Was there one for the cars of 1924?
Bloo
i have only seen ones that cover back to 1926. A copy of 1926-1931 is online: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/fisher/2632fbsm/index.html I have found that their methods didn't change that much from year to year. Restorer32
Bear in mind that the Fisher Body manual is only a generic description of the various parts and their names. Most may or may not have relevance to your particular make and body style. As others have stated there are no measurements.
Bloo
Yes, I should have mentioned that. Even if you find a book that covers the correct year, it wont give measurements or patterns.
