1939 President
Need to replace the body mounts on my 1939 Stude President. Does anyone know what material was used and what thickness. Thanks
Spinneyhill
Material, no; thickness, whatever was necessary at each mount to get the doors to hang and close straight? Edited May 7, 2019 by Spinneyhill (see edit history)
rbk
These body mounts were made of recycled tires. various thicknesses , as needed. http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/showthread.php?28635-Body-to-Frame-mounts Edited May 8, 2019 by rbk (see edit history)
nvonada
+1 on the old tires. Remarkably mine are still intact and somewhat pliable. In different places on the car they used sidewall, tread, and combinations of the two to get things to sit right. Nathan
1939 President
Thanks All for the input. Looking at the squished remains of my body mounts ( my cars, not mine ) it's hard to tell what they are made of or how thick. Was kinda was hoping all would be the same.
