V.Milke
Hi guys: I am looking for the brake components for my 1934 Buick series 50 coupe. I am not even sure if they are the same for the rest of the senior series, 60 or 90. Are they all the same among the senior Buicks? I am guessing not the cables, but the rest... would it be? The thing is, I have a 1934 Buick series 50 coupe on which, some past owner decided to adapt hydraulics and even discarded the emergency brake hardware, so I am needing the parts to convert it back. Any chance anybody around here may have those parts? Thanks, Victor
1939_Buick
Have not looked at my parts book, but expect series 50 is not the same as series 60 & 90 Are you going to keep the hydraulics and get the emergency brake going again? {That is what I would do} The best source of pre war Buick parts is Dave Tacheny in Champlin, MN. He specializes in 1936-1941 Buick parts. He is old school:- no email. The best way to contact him is to call him between 4 and 7 pm Central at 763-427 3460. You can also write him a letter. His address is 11949 Oregon Ave N., Champlin, MN 55316. http://forums.aaca.org/topic/206688-dave-tachney/ Edited December 11, 2018 by 1939_Buick (see edit history)
Mark Shaw
Mike, If you plan to make this a show car, I understand why you would want to restore the original brake system. However, if you want a nice driver, you should consider what 1939 Buick would do & save a bunch of time and $$.
V.Milke
Thank you guys. If I don't locate the components at a reasonable cost, it will have to remain as is, just taking care to make the emergency brake operational.... but I would love to have it as original, even though it will be a user and not a show car. Thanks again! victor
