jonlabree Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 1990 Reatta, A/C light came on today. All new system one year old. Working up until this AM. I discovered that one of the belts had started to chew itself up and a piece had lodged between the compressor and the clutch. after clearing it and checking the relay, the light is still on and the controller stays on vent. What could I have blowen? Is there a fuse besides the one in the consul? Any Ideas will be helpful. Thanks in advance. Jon.
harry yarnell Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 What 's "a whole new system" mean? There's only one belt. When the amber light comes on, it usually means the system's low on Freon.
jonlabree Posted June 24, 2018 Author Posted June 24, 2018 (edited) Thanks Harry. Everything has been replaced. (Whole new system) Edited June 24, 2018 by 63viking (see edit history)

D-a-n-i-e-l Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 I am not an expert on the 90 system, but I would start with checking the system pressure then apply 12th to the compressor. I know it is not the norm but I always like to eliminate major components before chasing wires.
DAVES89 Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 If the pressure is right and the compressor runs when it is jumped you might want to take a look at the low pressure sensor/switch.
waltmail Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Do the 90s have the power steering A/C cut out switch?
padgett Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 What do BD27 and BD28 read ? Engine off they should read 29-31. Engine running AC on about 3 and 50. BI08 is the low refrigerant switch. If tripped, disconnecting the battery for about 5 seconds should reset it.
jonlabree Posted June 25, 2018 Author Posted June 25, 2018 Thanks guys, it worked after checking the fuses I disconnected the battery last night and the air started to work again. Thanks again everyone. Jon.
