just me
What year Buick four-cylinder does this starter generator fit? Maybe it's just a generator? Thanks in advance. Charley
nickelroadster
Looks to be about 1915 or so. There should be a Delco number on it that would identify it. I suggest you take this number and call Jason at AER (Advanced Electrical Rebuilders). Number will be on his website.
Pete Phillips
Looks like a starter/generator to me. The round thing on the side is the base for the distributor. On second thought, I don't see the connection for the generator/water pump shaft on the front of this unit--or is it recessed below that bluish-gray door in the second photo? In the third picture the gears for the starter should be on the shaft that engages the flywheel. The left side goes towards the front of the engine. If you look at the second picture, the rectangular blue/gray piece on the end is the condenser/capacitor. The connection to the water pump shaft goes into the coupling area below that. Don't know the actual application until it you look up the part number.
