DShoes Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Hey Guys. Question for you. I've been debating upgrading my steering wheel since the novelty of the pencil thin original one has work off. The wooden GS wheels are cool, but a little spendy. I also like what this guy is running. I've got the same color combo of Pearl/Sadle and like the wrap. Question is: do I need to swap out the wheel anyways to get the desired diameter inside the wrap? Or is there a simpler method I'm not thinking of (like throwing a tube of hard EVA foam inside the wrap)? Does anybody have any experience with wraps? All I am seeing for sale online looks like cheap crap. Thanks.
DualQuadDave Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 There is a guy who wraps Caddy wheels on ebay that I am going to try out this year. I am sure he could wrap a Riv wheel, it's more/less same thing. Search "1970 cadillac steering wheel" and should come up. 1
RivNut Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Go to YouTube and find the video that Ish from Westcoast Customs on sewing a leather wrap for a steering wheel. Make your own custom cover that will appear more like a factory wrapped wheel (stitched rather than wrapped.) 2
DShoes Posted January 19, 2018 Author Posted January 19, 2018 Good thoughts. Thanks guys! I'll report back when done.
dship Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 I've used this company with success. http://wheelskins.com/ 2
