Best Battery for the old slant six

I'll start the avalanche....... :P

I used to buy nothing but Delco batteries but they priced themselves out of my market.

I bought a couple batteries from a popular farm store but never EVER again.

I switched to Carquest (now Advance) batteries which are made in Pennsylvania.

They aren't cheap but when it comes to batteries you DO get what you pay for.

I haven't experienced anything to change my mind.

I WILL check again now that Advance bought them out!

I've bought the occasional battery at Batteries Plus & Bulbs too.

If Advance cranks up prices that's where I'll get them....... ;)

Just replaced the battery in my '33 Plymouth. Takes a 6v rather than the 12v for the '61 Dodge so a little apples vs oranges on the comparison. But anyway, when I checked the files I found the old battery was purchased 8 years prior. I consider that pretty good as I never did much with it, hardly ever checked the electrolyte, never put it on a charger, etc. Just get in the car and start it and drive off. FWIW, it was an Interstate brand battery.

I dis recently install the Walmart  Everstart MAXX, Group 24, 700 cca battery in my 2002 Subaru (shoehorned it in) and it cranks it up quick so far.  I think Consumer Reports had good things to say about the Everstart although I can't remember who actually manufactures them.
