I would say have the body shop guy REMOVE it from the other car or he gets sued.

Pretty sure you can sue across state lines. You might need to get an Ohio lawyer but something like that is valuable enough that it might be worth it. Thats theft and of a pretty valuable thing too. I wouldnt let him walk away with that. Maybe get the owner of the other car involved too. If he gets a lawyer letter saying that his body shop put stolen parts on his car he might make things happen pretty fast for you. Maybe a hassle but less of a hassle than finding another rare part in good shape right?
