nearchoclatetown
Was the $50 written in by hand, Rick. Maybe it was just you? I've never been to this show but have seen pictures of several different years. Looks like a great show. BUT as usual if it can be screwed up it will. It CAN'T cost the $50 each to hold the show, can it? What freebies do you get? BBQ chicken?

They are also limiting the number of entries. There is quite a discussion regarding the changes over on the Model T of America Club site. Seems like to get in, you also need to be a previous participant.
nearchoclatetown
Rick, I talked to Kerr today and he's bent out of shape about this too. I understand if they want to limit numbers but this is a poor way to do it. This way no one is happy. You are always welcome to come to Hershey, we even have chicken at our dinner! 1926db
Andra and I have been going to this show for 21 years. It has always been a great week-end because all of the vehicles are running and driving around the Village. We knew that changes were coming but this caught everyone off guard. They have removed the old staff that built this show to the premiere event that it is/was and brought in new people and an outside management company, many of whom know nothing about the week-end or its history. We have been averaging around 20 DBs at the event during the last 10 years or so. Five of the six DB members I spoke with yesterday said they won't go under these conditions. This is really a sad turn of events. Barry
R.White
Same sort of thing is happening on this side of the Pond. Shows which are open to the public have started placing "public liability insurance" onto entrants and most have historic car insurance plans that don't include it. This means you need to be covered seperately and it pushes the cost up. In recent times, old car owners have got together and done their own thing on a smaller scale without being open to the public. It actually works well but on a smaller, smarter scale. You soon get used to not having kids climbing all over your car and no risk of theft or damage but there are questions about how the public will view the old car hobby if it gets an even more 'elitist' image.
