TheMoneyPit Posted August 2, 2017 Share Posted August 2, 2017 I'm pretty sure that you can use it on Studebakers well into the 20's - I had a 1924 Special Six (EK-EL engine) with a similar generator installed because the correct one for that year was made with a large amount of pot metal which had deteriorated. Enzo, this is the generator only, they're vertically mounted at the front of the engine, the starters are a chain drive unit with a gear reduction that went to a clutched sprocket on the front of the crankshaft and were horizontally mounted. Would really like to see what that looks like for when im out searching. Anyone have a photo or drawing of that? Im guessing this generator is gone? The original poster last visited December of 2020 - being a bit of a ghost thread it might be worth starting a new one to help get your answer.
