  1. Thank you Stude17 and everyone else too. I have 4 carb bodies now. My friend in Ottawa sent me a couple. I've been digging with a pitchfork every day after work in the junkpile hoping to find some more of the pieces. Ive found another rad shell, starting crank, a couple valves, the brass drain for the water pump, one hood hold down and a front seat back. I'm hoping I find a block and manifold. As I have no manifold, I've no idea which carb to use. Three are 1 3/8 bore, and the one looks to be 1 3/16. Anyone know the bore for the 4cyl? The choke snorkel things are different sizes too. Im finding a lot of other neat stuff in the junkpile too. Very fun!I also found a little wrench turned out to be the water pump packing nut wrench. Could've used that earlier. I made one. The little hat thing was in the dirts right where the car was. Any ideas what that is?
  2. Help! I've found a few chunks of brass for my 17 SF. The bowl I found on site in the basement of the burned down house a few hundred feet away. The two carbs on line. Get them home, put them together and first thing I notice is the choke snorkel thingy looks bigger. One says S one says V. 4 cyl, 6 cyl? Linkages are all different too. I have more money than brains. Oh no wait a minute... now there's no more money and no brains. And still missing a bunch of things to make a carb. Can anyone educate me about these? Any pieces anyone? I don't have a float. Where does the needle go? The lower air trombone is missing. Air comes in the top and the bottom?
  3. Trying to find a modern timken bearing that crosses over for the clutch shifter bearing Stude part # 18447. My eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be. The original appears to be src 18685? The ID looks to be tapered from 1 3/16 to 1 1/4. The OD 2 15/16? The race a little over 5/8. The race and cone are offset about an 8th. This is for 17 Stude series 18 SF 4 cyl.
  4. Question.. so the series 17 and 18 are both SF? What about series 16? Ive got a parts book I cant find a reference to SD, SF, was there an SE? Once I get down into the dirt and splinters im finding a lot of difference between series. Is there a chart that explains this? What about Canadian models, other than the "W" for Walkerton. Mr. Quin says my 17 series 18 SF is Canadian. I understand that series overlapped years a bit. I worked in a factory for a couple years and I have a new understanding of organized confusion oh boy im getting dizzy 🤪
  5. I came across this car yesterday. The owner claims it to be a Tudhope, built in Orillia Ontario. The only things I can find online for these cars show that the Tudhope built a car from about 1910 - 1914. These look a fair sight different than this one. Any thoughts?

  7. Found this in the remains of what I think is a 1919,20,21ish GMC 1 ton. I havent looked at it in awhile but today something possessed me to glass bead it, get it freed up, and spray some paint on it. I had no idea what it was. Then I discovered Kelsey rim tool # 5. Likely a specific application. Does anyone know what this is for? Is it complete? How does it work? Oh and any ideas on the truck? Am i completely out to lunch......again??
  8. one of these for the oil can, what is that other thing? and this? Is there a cover for the flywheel/clutch? Likely long gone on most of them..
  9. Possible the shorter one from a roadster? Less roof to fold up
  10. Dunn manufacturing of Clarinda Iowa, later the Paris Dunn wind generator company?
  11. I have a 26 model 50 coupe and a sedan. Found the same brackets on mine screwed to the door post. I thought they were an aftermarket thing as well.
  12. Thanks Stude light I was lucky to find the first one too. It was laying in the splash pan with the car under a foot of earth. Maybe the other side is still there somewhere. Im done digging now till winter is over
  13. Here we go. Found some to look at!Now I know what im looking for.
  14. Here I thought I had the world by the tail! Ive found the other top bow saddle! 5 bucks at the lethbridge swap meet. Get it home and although the castings are close, same types of part numbers, its another left and its smaller. The black one I found with the car. Part # 156L. 108L is the other. 1 ear on the black, a double ear on the other. Made by the same company. Patent 1911. Can anyone shed some wisdom on this?
