jackofalltrades70
For those who have these, they are really only for these years I believe. My "steel" sockets are useable, BUT, the part that I consider replaceable is very brittle, broken and frayed. How have others repaired/ replaced these? thanks Matt
Bill Stoneberg
Yes, they can come apart and new wire soldered. Its not easy, but with some patience it can be done. Buick5563 did them for me when we were replacing the wiring on my 47.
jackofalltrades70
Bill thanks for rellying. Two of mine have the plastic broken so I am needing to replace quite a bit. I have an idea and will try something I did on my 56'
JohnD1956
Looks like a good candidate for some 3 d printing.
Long Roof
I just purchased a pair for my 1956. Have not installed them yet but they look like they should work perfectly. Seem to be a standard GM connector but I don't know what years these were used. http://www.ebay.com/itm/60-66-Chevy-Fleetside-Pickup-Truck-Tail-Light-Lamp-Wire-Pigtail-Connectors-Pair-/161831004240?hash=item25ade12850:g:fWkAAOSw9r1V~JIy&vxp=mtr
60FlatTop
I bought these to rebuild my Packard assemblies. I knocked out the old Bakelite and they fit right in. All I had to do was stake them: https://scoutparts.com/products/?view=product&product_id=14108 I did use cloth wires and contact buttons correct to the car. I bought three, one to screw up and two to use. Had to "scout" around a little to find them. jackofalltrades70
Cost me 2.99 a piece for the new donor sockets. Repaired for less than $15.00
