I have no idea what it is but for sure it is a really interesting photo!  Can you tell us where you found it?  To me it seems like it is an exploration trip of some kind.  The large locomotive type light on the front of the car is a real stand out item.

TerryB, I received it an email that contained lots of pictures of older models in cold conditions. I thought that light was rather interesting myself.

The second one is a Ford T which has had its radiator top tank enlarged a little.  Note the skis on the front wheels.  It looks to have had its fuel tank shifted from under the front seat to above the hood.  This would enable it to climb steep hills.  I wonder what the sign on the front says.

Both photos are great! Top one at first glance looks like a Locomobile, second one could be 1912 Model T with the Torpedo Roadster body, but the seat is somewhat taller. I like the extra gas tank over the hood. Bob

The first car might be a Stoddard-Dayton from about 1907.  That was one model that had a tall radiator filler like the one seen on this car.

I still think the first photo is a Locomobile 30 from 1909. Bob

Locomobile looks closer to me, body is closer to the rear fender and the front fender lines look much closer.

I think it is a Locomobile 40 due to the oil tank on the frame just behind the rear fender.
