tigersdad
Brought the '32 out for a drive the other day here in Marin County, CA. Since we have a lot of Victorian's and older homes, thought this would be a good picture setting the stage of the era. A lot easier to drive than my Packard. Get's more compliments, too! tigersdad
Thanks, Rod. Much appreciated! Finished in the original colors of Riviera Green Light over the Riviera Green Dark Belt line. Same colors the car was advertised in from the original brochures. Jay
Buicknutty
Nice cars! Well shot, too. Those backgrounds suit the cars very nicely. Keith
27donb
A lot easier to drive than my Packard. A Packard is more difficult to drive than a Buick? Having never driven a Packard (and probably never will have the opportunity) Why is that?
tigersdad
The Buick has wider wheels 7.00 x 18 and has the 3-speed synchromesh gearbox. No double clutching. The Packard with its 6.00 x 20 wheels is a 4 speed, with Reverse covering the area above 1st and second which are side by side. If you don't push the gear shift all the way to the far right and up, you'll grind. Plus, having such low torque, you can't be going fast when shifting. You ease into gear while double clutching, and when the car is in neutral, you give a bit of gas, then shift into the next gear. Same for downshifting. A chore driving one of these beasts, but fun! 1st gear is what's called a Granny Gear for parking on an incline. I've never used it. The shift pattern is below: R 31-2--4 Jay
