Guest MarkV1941
Hi I need help with power windows. I have a 1956 2DHT 88 and want to convert to power windows.I can replace all the mechanical parts with a power window set from a1electric.com a power windowspecialist, and I know Fusick have the switches and relays etc. But the rear windows mechanism are different on two doors, as they go back and down, and they won't have them.1. Can I use the mechanism thats there some how.2. Does anyone have a 2D HT rear mechanism set. 3. Can I use window mechanisms from another GM same period3. Any other suggestions would be good. Thanks
61polara
Find original motors and they should bolt up to all of your regulators.
JACK M
Some of the street rod sites have a motor that simply replaces the handle. I guess you would set it on the shaft and anchor it to the door frame. Probably bulky.
junkyardjeff
55/56 Buick parts should be similar
PONTIAC1953
you can used 1955 and 1956 oldsmobiles and buicks that have the same roofline and glass. you don't mention if your olds is a 88, super88, or 98.the olds 98 would be the same as 1955 and 1956 cadillac two door hardtop.
