Bleach
The VLC Media Player will play many different types of video files. What particular type of file (AVI, MP4, MKV, etc) are you trying to attach? Link to comment
nick8086
AVI.. It errors out.. Edited July 11, 2015 by nick8086 (see edit history) Link to comment
MCHinson
I have moved your question to the appropriate forum where it is more likely to be seen by someone who can answer it. AVI is not a currently supported file format. You could send Peter Gariepy a message asking if he can add that attachment format. I am not familiar with that file format. I don't know if others would be able to easily play that file format or not. There are several supported video file formats available. Perhaps you can convert it to a supported file format? gwells
You might consider converting your AVI file to an MP3. I located a YouTube video that indicates VLC Media Player will do that conversion and there is at least one free online site that will as well. You should be able to embed an MP3 file, as I am pretty sure that the IP.Board default install includes an MP3 media tag. Link to comment

Peter Gariepy
AVI is not supported. I suggest mp4. Link to comment
nick8086
One more try: mp4. - did not work. It was a VlLC mp4... Edited July 26, 2015 by nick8086 (see edit history) Link to comment
gwells
Peter, I just checked and there isn't an mp4 media tag. Another approach would be to upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo and post a properly-formatted link to the video there. I know it's more work... Link to comment
