EricHoman
Hi Frank, I'm not looking to buy anything but your pictures brought up something I have been wondering for some time. In your picture of the drivers side engine bay, to the right of the vacuum tank and mounted to the firewall is something which looks like a copper bell with a handle on it. My car (a '25) has the mounting bracket but I've never known what belongs there. I'm really curious, could you let me know what that thing is? cahartley
I'm pretty sure that's a gasoline primer can.The bracket for mine is on the passenger side of the firewall.
JayG
Looks like an oil can to me. My 25 has the bracket on the drivers side. No primer cups in the head of a 25 so I would say oil.

JayG
According to the Design Changes Primer Cups were discontinued on 2/11/24 after car A-34723. Looks like your 25 has an earlier head.
Frank Wilkie
This is a oil can on my 1923 Dodge
R.White
I concur. It is an oil can. We had a thread on this subject a while ago. Original cans are hard to find but there are many others available which are very similar in design. There is difficulty in identifying the "correct" can as they do not carry the Dodge Brothers name or logo as far as I know. Ray.
