mll1446
Anyone installed the wood for a 28-29 Model A Sport Coupe? I would love to talk if you are willing. A couple questions:Does metal corner brace where door, beltline wood, and rear bow meet sit flush with outside edge of beltline wood?Does brace get bolted direct to body (brace-through beltline wood – to holes in body brace under beltline), or beltline wood bolted to body at the body brace and metal corner brace screwed into beltline wood? thanks in advance<!-- / message -->
Binger
I am working on a Special coupe and putting the wood in it right now. I am not sure the sport coupe is the same however. I have a few pictures if you would like to see some of my progress

Dave Mellor NJ
I don't like to send users to other sites as they might not come back, but these technical questions might get answered better on the Model A forums of the Ford Barn.http://fordbarn.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=
Binger
I will get some photos out to you shortly and I agree with Dave Mellor NJ that the ford barn is a great site with lots of information. I have found it very helpful on several occasions.

Binger
I bought the kit from Bert's Model A in Denver. It fit right together with almost no fitting or sanding. I only wish I was good enough to fabricate a kit like that. I tip my hat to someone who has done the wood from scratch on a restoration. I thought the wood work on that Sterns Knight on the cover of the last Antique Auto was amazing.
Bhigdog
NICE................What species of wood?..............Bob
Binger
The kit is made of oak i believe. This is actually 2 Kits. Body wood and Top wood. The body part is everything below the top of the window and the top is the rest including the front header.
