1933 era tire pressure guage

What type pressure guage was used in the 1933-34 time frame?

The shotgun shell shaped brass gage with nickel plating is what I would associate with that time frame.

Here is the common style used then as described by TerryB.....this one has a patent date of April 10, 1923 and is for balloon tires. The round one has no date, but I believe is from the early 1930s.

Balloon tires began in the mid twenties, they took much lower pressure than the old straight sided high pressure tires. Typically 30PSI vs 60PSI

Balloon tires were still manufactured and used into the early thirties. These instruments go to 50psi.

I think the round guage cost more,,,so are not as common

It was made over a long time span,,,still in production,,,not sure of Mfgr'

I'LL watch,,as I see mine,,note the pressure,,

I know the one in the Stanley reads to at least 90#,,for the clinchers,,
