I finally have time to post some pics of the Riviera. I explained what it was in my post titled "65 Riviera, what to do?"I got it cleaned up and redid the whole brake system, I was able to drive it around amd found the clamshells work great as does the power antenna, even the clock works without even touching it. Anyway I will have it at Lexington and hope to sell it there. If not it will go on ebay. It has 38,000 original miles and is a complete "survivor" I am now going to attempt to post some pictures of it.

Looks like a very nice, original car. Looking forward to seeing it in person. Just a suggestion...if the cable length will allow, it might be a good idea to turn the battery around to get the hot post away from the fender...or be sure the battery is secure and cannot shift toward the fender. See you in Lexington,

Been there; done that. If the electrical system on my 63 had not be wired through an aftermarket amp meter, the + post against the hood would have fried the whole car. The amp meter blew and stopped the short at that point.

OK Broomer: Your car certainly brings up several things. A GS with fabric custom interior, manual windows and a/c. I heard lots of reasons why people back in the day didn't order power windows like......if the car goes in the drink I won't be able to get out, they will fail and it's more expense to repair them and with a more performance oriented car, power windows and a/c weigh more and will slow things down. Even, too much dough.

I'm over curious why your car was ordered like this from new. Mitch

Very standard car. Even the outside mirror is standard. Kinda weird that someone opted for the AM/FM and rear defogger but I've seen stranger combinations...

Looks like you have a small radiator leak. Might want to add a can of Bar's Leaks Liquid Copper Block Seal Intake & Radiator Stop Leak before your journey and be sure to stock a couple gallons 50/50 coolant JIC. You might want to change out that rad cap too. Safe travels!

I was unable to attend the Lexington meet. Does the car have a new owner?

Eric,

Prior to leaving the meet I "heard" it sold and for a price that was sure to make its new owner a happy camper. I do not know who bought it. I met Broomer and he is a stand-up guy. He said he was not taking it home and it was going to sell to the highest offer. The car was a real gem IMO. It was nice of him to bring the car to the meet to sell. He could have sold it on ebay for more money but chose to go through the trouble and money of having it hauled down so it could go to an ROA member. Truely a car that could have the mechanicals gone thorugh, clean up the paint, polish the chrome and drive it.
