radius rod

i just got the rearend in but not tight every things hooked up but not tight,my ? is im putting in the radius rod and the drivers side is a couple inches from slideing on to the bolt on the frame,i dont have the rear tires on yet its on jackstands ,how do i go about getting it close enough to slide on the bolt?thank you.

I assume the jackstands are under the frame, so jack up the rear end with a wheeled floor jack placed parallel to the axle so it can be moved side to side.

Just did the same thing a couple months ago. I got under the car(securely supported with jack stands)and pushed the rear with my foot to line up the holes,if I recall correctly.

Mightn't it have been easier to install the radius rods before putting the rear on the car? This way you could have made sure everything was squared up while it was easily accessible, without having to lay on your back.

Did you remove the springs? These should go in last. It will give you a lot more play to get things lined up.

never removed the springs,i ended up getting it today,had my brother push the rearend over with his feet and it slid right in.thanks for everyones help.

While your under there, check the front stabilizer. I replaced the radius rod bushings at the same as the links and bushings up front and now my car rides like a Cadillac....ooops!
