1935Packard Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Around 25 years ago, I picked up the two ornaments below at a flea market for a few bucks. I though they might be hood ornaments (aka radiator mascots) from a 1930s car, but I wasn't sure. The one on top looks like it might be one, although the one on the bottom probably isn't. But I'm just guessing. Can anyone ID these? I've had them sitting around for a long time, and I don't know what they are. Thanks in advance for your time.
keiser31 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 They are absolutely aftermarket ornaments for the late twenties cars.

Some googling led me to find a match for the winged lady ornament here: FEMALE AUTOMOBILE MASCOTS 2According to that site, it's an Accessory Goddess with Single Wing (#198) made of Chrome Plated Zinc by the Franklin Die Casting Co., Inc. How interesting. Does anyone have any ideas on the other one?
Fleek Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Pontiac has used the indian chief as their logo in many forms. I would guess your second item to be an aftermarket item designed around the chief.http://northstargallery.com/cars/car85web.jpg
Curti Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Yep, they look like products sold by Pep-Boys, Western Auto, JC Whitney back in the day.
