mbenseignant@gmail.com
Circuit breakers are missing from my car so I may end up wiring in two fuses. I would like somebody to confirm my understanding of the illustration: 4 is one end of the left breaker. 3 is the other end of the left breaker. 3 is also an end of the right breaker. 2 is the other end of the right breaker. 1 is really nothing but an additional post for 2. So both breakers are connected through the post at 3. Car is a 1924 Cadillac V63. Does anyone have a rough idea what amperage fuse I should install in left and right circuits? Many thanks, Mike Barnes, Canada mbenseignant@gmail.com.
oldford
According to my National Service Data, the breakers control high amperage devices such as lights, horn, etc. Depending on the style of bulbs you will use, i'd go with 12AWG stranded wire. It might be overkill in some circuits, but too large is better than too small, besides, how much wire are you really talking about....Frank
Rusty_OToole
Are you sure those are circuit breakers? It looks more like the generator cutout and voltage regulator. It would help if we could see the rest of the diagram.
jbbuick22
The delco switch on my 1922 Buick has a single breaker like that, a short causes it to buzz.Chech Waytek.com they have many breakers you may be able to use.You will have to figure out the total amp draw on each circuit. mbenseignant@gmail.com
I'm attaching a couple of pics. Apparently these are Delco breakers. One pic shows the entire circuit diagram for the car; the other the correct breakers for the car. Pic is from a friend's car; breakers are missing from mine. Thanks for suggestions so far. jbbuick22
It looks like the breaker on the right protects all lights, horn, and cigar lighter. The other protects the ignition circuit, a guess would be 20 amps for the ign and 40 for the lights. JB
