trimacar
He's fine, he's actually in Richmond on the tour, talked to him on his cell about an hour ago. He's called back home and it seems that his house and area are OK as of now.He had a tough time of it with Katrina.
Shop Rat
I just got an e-mail from him and was glad to hear that he and Dale are safe. At least he knows we were thinking about them.
Marty Roth
Hi all, and thanks for the concern. We have been on tour 4 of the past 5 weeks: Nebraska DivisionalAltoona Founders(VMCCA) Circle Counter-Clockwise Around Lake ErieRichmond, VA ReliabilityNo serious damage other than a rainwater leak around the chimney into the family room; one shed was destroyed by the persistant wind of the hurricane; some of the 6-ft cedar fence is down, and gates are a total-loss; spent much of today removing fallen tree limbs; will check out the roof tomorrow. Our power was back quite soon from what our neighbors have told us. We phoned our home and the answering machine came on - this told us that the electricity was on!The family is OK -- Son & daughter-in-law were 2 blocks over - lost power - stayed at our place while he worked to protect the Audubon Nature Center's Aquarium of the Americas and their Research Center -- Daughter and grandson also lost power out in St. Charles Parish and came here to stay, but were able to return home by Friday night. We are back to full service with electric, A/C, Cable, Internet, water & gas. This area did not flood this time, and we are VERY grateful not to have to go through that again. Regrettably some of our local members fared much worse:Dennis & Vita Dautrive of the St. Bernard Chapter of Louisiana Region lost the roof from their home - I believe that a "Blue Roof" tarp was installed.During the evacuation Maryann Pisciotta suffered a fatal massive heart attack. She and husband Anthony have been active members here in the Greater New Orleans area. She was a very sweet lady and a fantastic cook, and will be missed by a great many people. Those who attended her St. Joseph's Altar ( here in New Orleans the food is a major part of any holiday) would attest to her acclaim. Anthony will advise with regard to funeral plans. Our prayers are with the Pisciota family. We wait to hear how our members in Slidell and LaPlace, Louisiana have fared with the massive flooding in those areas. Thanks again for the concern, and please keep a spot in your thoughts and prayers for those whose lives have been placed on hold by mother nature. Donations to the Salvation Army are always well-managed, and seem to go the farthest.
