silvering headlamp reflectors

Can anyone suggest good shops that can re-silver headlamp reflectors? Or even the optimal process to do this.

The headlamps on my 32 chevy are yellowish and do not reflect very well.

What or how were they originally done?

Thanks in advance.

To document this topic of recoating headlight reflectors, I spoke with Bill Atwood, president of UVIRA. Bill still offers his service to the collector car hobby. Bill himself is a car collector. According to Bill, even OEMs now use this process of aluminized coatings. Its also used in Hospital operating room overhead lights

A customer must have his reflector copper and nickel plated and polished by a plating shop. Not chrome, the chrome layer defeats/reduces the reflection percentage. Then ship them to UVIRA where they will give it their special coating. Fee is $75 for a pair of reflectors.

I used telephone (541) 474-5050

As a previous customer of UVIRA, the light's performance is outstanding and I recommend it.
