Guest REX STALLION
I have a remote mirror to put on my drivers door but I`m not sure where to install it. A template would be terrific or dimensions for mounting as well
68RIVGS
Most aftermarket Buick accessories, like remote mirrors, usually came with a template or mounting instructions and hardware for the various models. You might try the ROA library to see if they might have an original to copy.
RivNut
Rex,What year? I took pictures of mirror placements on some 63-65 Rivieras while I was at Hershey this past June. In my opinion, mirror placement depends on who was working the line that day. I found mirrors placed differently and there was no rhyme nor reason as to why. FB numbers and build dates would NOT confirm any kind of rationale.Ed
Guest papaw
If I remember correct right side mirrors are generally mounted an inch and a half closer to the back than the left. It has been a while as the last dealer I worked at was 1975. Make sure you use a inner bracket on the under side too support it from pulling through the newer sheet metal. Jolly_John
Yes, Randy...my memory is that the ROA library had the 1963-65 Riv mirror mounting templates available at one time. Don't know the current status of these, but it certainly is worth checking with the club office. Just one more reason for Riv folks to be ROA members! Guest REX STALLION
Okay, I am a member , so how do I locate the template ?
RivNut
If a template exists in the ROA library, find the contact information for Tom Mooney, Librarian, in your latest Riview and get in touch with him.
CTX-SLPR
I can tell you this, if you put it in the same place as the drivers side it's useless. The divider pillar for the vent window almost completely blocks the view of the mirror.
