Not your run-of-the-mill '37 Ford. Anyone seen this one before?

Odd "Ford" on ebay. Very interesting if it's real. Other Makes : Ford - eBay (item 290501743994 end time Nov-24-10 22:58:36 PST)

What I think is that it's a 1938 Plymouth front clip (customized and extended at the rear fenders and grille) with (part of) a 1930-31 Ford Model A body and 1936 or 37 Ford rear fenders grafted on. Maybe even a '40 Ford hood for the rear "boattail" look. I gotta tell ya, I was laughing at it the whole time I was typing this.

Pretty cool! You are much better at identifying the pieces than I was. (Although , I do have to confess I recognized the Model A cowl) I am reminded of a Johnny Cash song where he picked his car up at the factory "one piece at a time."

Actually, I think that the "boattail" is made from a 1940 Pontiac hood. They left the center trim piece on. I think that you should post this on the "what is it" forum to see who else has a guess on what that contraption is.

I was going to say the back was well made until you put the Pontiac hood in my head.

I think the center rocket exhaust might be a 61-63 Thunderbird bumper end. The wheels are 36-39 Ford wide fives so the chassis might be 37 Ford.
