Guest xerxes
I'm replying to my own ad as I don't know how to repost. I really need to sell this car and I've reduced the price to $5,000.00. I've had a lower offer but I refused it.It needs a top. Mileage is just under 100K and it's a great car but I sell building materials and sales are very poor.Call or email with any questions. Another Reatta owner, daveagain909@aol.com, has seen this car and has kindly offered to give an unbiased opinion. Thanks for looking!
NCReatta
If, for any reason, anyone wants a second un-biased opinion, I'm glad to go take a look at the car. Seems like a good car for the asking price from what I've heard from Dave.P.S. Just a suggestion, Terry, a few pictures are worth a thousand words. If you can post some, I'm sure a lot more people would be interested. Edited January 15, 2011 by NCReatta (see edit history)
Guest BJM
It's hard to believe the buying crowd is so soft that this car is still for sale. I have to believe it would sell easily on ebay for $5000. Taken simply as a used car, you can't get much on a car dealer lot with 100,000 miles, well taken care of, for $5,000. That is a great buy, a great, honestly presented car. makes a person wonder if any Reatta folks are buying now or if Reatta owners are just sitting tight. NCReatta
If I had $5000 to toss around, believe me, this car would be sitting in my yard. I can't believe there aren't anymore takers though. it's a nice car from what I can see in the pics. NCReatta
c'mon guys, SOMEBODY's gotta want this thing!! It's a nice car! Isn't there anyone who wants to snatch this up? Before long, $5k verts will be un-heard of. Someone, please pick this one up! I'll be glad to go do the deal for an out of state buyer, and store the thing at my place until shipping or pick-up can be arranged.

Guest BJM
I'm sorry but a convertable will never be in my future. Around here we hope that summer falls on a weekend...Dave, Winter in Wisconsin can be bad. But a convertible is special. Everyone needs one, just to experience the sensation. In Wisconsin, as you know, late April and May can offer up some splendid drives. Then, consider the pleasures of a convertible in September and October. Start the day with the top up, head out on a drive through the country, by 1pm, pull the top down and bask in the colors, flavors and smells of autumn. DAVES89
BJM, I owned three 'verts over the years, Fiat Spider, Mustang and a Miatta. Never again, don't see the charm in them. I do like sunroofs on cars however... makes for a quieter car and probably less maintenance.
Guest daveagain909
this is a good car and if I had room I would have it. I have driven this car and would not worry about driving it anywhere. Only problem is the delaminated window in the top which happens to all of them.....

NCReatta
Any idea how much a new top costs? Is there someone in Raleigh that can install it? Where exactly is the clearcoat damage? How bad is it?Thanks!!A new top can cost anywhere from $400 to $900. It all depends on how nice a top you want. I can get it installed for about $400. I'm having one installed on my vert this weekend.. I'll report on how much I pay for the installation. I haven't seen the car, daveagain909 has. Dave, any comments on the clearcoat? I've just bought a new Haartz cloth top from BuickReattaParts.com. I paid $889 and it was shipped directly to my front door. it took about 8 weeks, but it is truly a first class top. I'm going to have it installed this weekend, and will report back.If anyone's interested, I'll take a look at the car, finish the deal for them, order and have my guy install the top. My upholster has done work on a friend of mine's '55 Mercedes 300SL. He does top notch work. I can go take a look at the car, and supply many extensive pictures for any interested parties. Guest xerxes
I appreciate all the buzz on my 1990 Beechwood convertible for sale. I am more than happy to supply more pics for potential buyers and will by happy to discuss the car via a phone call. I find a phone call allows a better opportunity to discuss things at length. I'll also answer emails but I type poorly and slowly. BTW, a couple of years ago I drove this car 180 miles on the Interstate at a steady 65mph and got 30 mpg!One person looked at the car a couple of weeks ago. He already owns several Reattas and has a fantastic working knowledge of 1988 & 1989 models. He has bought several and stripped them so he has a lot of spare parts as well. He drove the car several miles at speeds up to 75 mph. His only real complaint was that the clearcoat on the left rear fender was bad and he felt the car had been repainted at some time due to some color mismatch at that area. He looked under the car and said there was no obvious sign of wreck damage. He indicated he would want to repaint the whole car if he owned it and, since it needed a top and the repaint, he would only offer $3,500.00 for the car.I need to sell this car as I'm in a real financial bind. I apologize for sounding a bit peeved but I'll put the car in someone else's name and file bankruptcy before I give it away and I think $3,500.00 is giving it away.On Craigslist Raleigh today: 2003 Nissan Sentra with 133K for $5,500 and a 2002 Honda Accord with 134K for $6,500 or a 2003 Mitsubishi Spyder convertible with 150K for $5,499. What will these cars be worth in 10 years? FAR LESS THAN THE REATTA CONVERTIBLE!Finally, everybody, including me, loves a great deal. If this car was red with a tan interior and had any real mechanical or body issues I would probably take $3,500 and be happy. As it stands, I'll take $5,000.00 CASH. No less. Thanks again for all the interest. This forum is one of the best places to learn and share information and I truly believe Reatta owners know how to appreciate how special these cars are. Have a great day, and let's all do something kind for another person before the sun sets! NCReatta
I got together with Terry yesterday and looked over and drove the car. This is TRULY a beautiful car. And it's a deal at the price he's asking. Anything that needs to be done to the car is purely cosmetic. The car ran and drove fantastic. The only items that I thought needed to be done to get the car to a nice driver condtion are:-New top. (the old one is almost completely useless.)-new visor clips (2)-carpets re-dyed-gear shift tape replaced-stone chips touched up-clear coat problem on the top of the driver's rear fender fixed (I would just repaint the whole top of the fender)-Lumbar bladder replaced-oil change-driver's mirror replaced (Terry said he has anotehr one that will be included with the car)-"keying" fixed. (The passenger side door has about a 20" scratch on it from being keyed in the parking lot before Terry bought it. Not sure what would need to be done to fix this.)That's all I can remember that needs to be done to make it a decent weekend driver in my opinion. Of course, many more things could be done to the car, but the above list is just what I think it needs to have a decent driver.HERE are some pictures I took.I can answer any other questions anyone has! CMJAnew
-New top. (the old one is almost completely useless.)Does this mean the top would not, if up, hold up for a drive to PA/NY? Otherwise it sounds like the car would be in drive home condition?????? I do have a guy that can transport for a fair price. Thanks

ThanksWhen I looked at the car, the rear window was completely missing out of the car. The car is definitely (in my opinion) in drive home condition. Just an oil change and fluids checked and I think she'd be ready to go.
Guest gotitright
Marck, great pictures, help a lot along with your impressions of the car. I am now giving it a thought and may contact Terry about it. I am only about 170 miles south of you 2. By the way your new top looks great on the other post. I know of a very similar car for sale in Greenville, SC. Almost exact same milage, it's top it decent, but no CD or 16-ways, a few things don't work, and over all I think Terry's car is a better car. The owner of the Driftwood in SC is asking $3,500 more than Terry is. You could put $2800 into this car and have a better car IMHO.
