WWS
What about a road trip to the Madison County covered bridges south of Des Moines? Looks like its 30-40 miles south, plus the birthplace of John Wayne is there. Couple hour roadtrip. Couple hour roadtrip.Mark, Madison County is a fair stretch from Ames but definitely could be worked into your approach or return trip if I35 is involved. Winterset Iowa is home to the so-called "Bridges of Madison County" movie and book (Clint Eastwood movie) and truly has several original covered bridges. John Wayne's birthplace is in Winterset. Thriller
Thanks Bill...some neat stuff to do. I'll have to print off a copy for The Boss.It definitely got my attention though - Brewery Tour. I'm not sure it matters that there is other stuff to do.
