Curti
Fender trim, where the exhaust pipe went through the fender. You can see real asbestos sandwiched in between the stainless and the lower plate. They are not supercharged Auburn or Cord. Anybody with a WAG

keiser31
I imagine that we are looking at the "inner fender side" of the units given the curve.

Curti
Ya, I own supercharged Auburns and am familiar with supercharged Cords, so I know they arn't those. Invicta is a new on on me. They must be English. Did Stutz or Kissel ever have side pipes?
ron hausmann
Curt,One or two of the initial Kissel Gold Bug Speedsters were built with side-pipes, one side. The original blueprints and several pictures of them in contemporary news articles are at the Hartford, Wisconsin Kissel Museum. They never went into production, however, with the pipes. If you have ever looked at Kissel Gold Bugs, they are handsome without these options.Visit the Museum>Ron Hausmann
