    ***Now At Auction****
Once owned by well known Minnesotan surgeon. Has been garaged kept for years. Has keys which is rare in these finds. A very pleasant lightly patinated car from recent long term ownership in lovely running order. Being an early Park Ward Derby built car it benefits from having an aluminium body as opposed to the later steel ones.
The car is finished in medium grey top over light grey with the paintwork being in presentable order throughout. The bonnet Louvres & side being light grey as well. The single spare in boot mounted is covered by light grey classic tire cover. The car is fitted with a large sunroof for semi alfresco motoring.
The engine does not start due to missing battery, the Bentley was driven and stored for years in storage unit for safe keeping. Will need to be towed. To the interior is black hide complimented by baby blue carpets all of which are in fine condition with the light patina one might find in one's favorite pair of shoes. the leather extending to the door cards. Original throughout. the woodwork is also in fine condition crafted from walnut.
Payment must be submitted by Bank Wire 24 hours prior to pick-up. Gopher Auctions Representative will contact winning bidder to provide with Wire Details.
The Bentley is available to be inspected by appointment.

This ^^ reads like a convincing endorsement for its “authenticity”.

OTOH, whether this car is authentic or not makes no difference to me. I was just commenting my observations on two different appearances shown in the pictures and how they could lead someone to think “maybe different cars ?”

I think we ruffled a few feathers when we dared to say that comparing the two photos, it looks like they may be 2 different cars. Just for the record, the car in the photo I posted is the one I would want.

As I initially and then George S. noted, if you look at the first photo (B & W with M. Sheen) of this thread and compare it to one you posted (along with others found on the internet and in P & J website), it’s clear they have numerous detail and feature differences, including but not limited to exhaust, painted flames, rear bumper, stance, wheels/tires, etc, begging a question that if latter is supposed to represent former and there are that many discrepancies, are they REALLY even a same car ?

Does anyone have reasonably good documentation of the car's history and VIN from the movie to showroom ?

How many similar claims have been made of “Bullit” Charger or Mustang, the deuce or ‘55 Chevy from “American Graffiti” and countless other “famous/movie” cars ?

    Well  said. Thank you.

Huh? The photo I posted is the original car, in the showroom at the current Pete & Jakes's location.

I don’t doubt you. Look at the b & w photo and compare it to yours. Mine looks like a car that is driven. It has steelies, beauty rings, and caps, and side pipes. Looks like the rake on it is different than yours also. Paint not as shiny as yours. (Granted my photo is old). Yours has super shiny paint, wrong wheels and probably tires, and what looks like a different rake/stance.

The photo with the girl looks like a Dale Klee. And the car looks to have the same inconsistencies as your photo, when compared to the original photo.

GREAT BIG difference between this car and the million dollar Z11 besides the Z11 price.

You bet! Pete & Jake's was bought out but both this car and Jake's yellow Coupe belong to the company. Now located in Peculiar, Missouri, the website is messed up and I could not get a link.  After the TV show made the car famous it was bought by a collector here in Connecticut, got upholstery and sold back to the original builder. Ford powered it is a great car. Original flamed paint job is starting to show some age, stood along side it 5 years ago at the Grand National Roadster Show.  Bob

    Thanks!👍👍

My point was that if you ask 20 people for value, you'll get 25 answers. Until cash changes hands, the information isn't useful. If the seller accepts your $10K, then that's a data point.

Point taken. Thanks for the clarification. If the OP is reading these replies, my offer stands and I have the cash ready.

Which, unfortunately, is exactly why asking for values on a forum like this (or worse, on Facebook) is a waste of time.

So, my offer of $10000 is a waste of time? Do you think it’s too low? If it is, and regarding this specific car with the description and photos presented, then why do you think so? I gave my reasons for my offer. How about you giving me reasons why it’s of greater value? Please keep in mind it’s been sitting for 30 years, filthy inside and out, the probable vermin infested shack it’s in, and the probable scale on the undercarriage from sitting where it is. (You notice the gap in the floor a guy could throw a cat through?) Lots of moisture coming up through it and the rest of the floor, but maybe this car is located in the Mojave, then forget the moisture.

I should have probably said 7,500-45k to cover the case where it has a non original non running engine and is rotted to death.   But George,  if it is a 35k one owner car with paperwork and original paint I think it might be worth more than you would think.    And I like I said before, the Colonade style is not the same market as the 68-72.

Don't really disagree with you, BUT to me as it sits it's worth $10K. OP asked for values & that's mine. I'd be glad to pay it knowing there's $5000-$10000 that would have to be spent to make it roadworthy & right. Take a good look at the building it's in & tell me there's no scale formed underneath or pitting & surface rust starting on chrome parts both inside and out.

not a value of “what ever someone is willing to pay “.   Thanks

I don’t know about the someone you mention & what they’re willing to pay, but based on info & photos provided, I’m willing to pay $10,000 as it sits with a legitimate title. BTW, NADA book for one in High Retail condition is 10,702. High Retail = The vehicle is in excellent condition overall, fully restored or a very well-maintained original showing very minimal wear with no reconditioning needed. It may be considered a 'matching-numbers' vehicle. It is not a '100-point' or '# 1' vehicle. A vehicle of this caliber may be worth more than the high-retail value. Not driven, this vehicle is stored in climate-regulated facilities, transported in enclosed trailers to concours judging and car shows or displayed in a museum. This car is not like that description.

Depending on the answers to 1-4 the value is somewhere between 15K and 45k

Maybe in another person’s dreams, but not in mine or my reality. Looking at the decrepit building it was stored in, there’s bound to be issues including mice.

  11. Doesn’t show the back seat. I wanted to see if it’s the same as the front, with the black inset panels. It looks like it’s not original and funky like it doesn’t quite fit. Speaking of original, it’s all original except the rebuilt engine, transmission, water pump, re-chromed bumper, and paint, but it’s mostly all original. Would someone please define original as it pertains to an old car?
Would the engine be a 368?

That said, it is a nice looking car and one you don’t see a lot of.

Finally, the front bumper looks like it adds about 500 pounds to the car-pretty massive.
