I need someone to look at a Corvette for me. Willing to pay you for your time. Here's the car:
-
A pair of Viennese Ladies riding in their Schnauferl - this photograph is from from Automobile Magazine circa 1900.
Cute little buggy. I don't see any kind of engine or motor. Wonder if it was electric.

I guess I'm tired of seeing EVERYTHING our friends from south of the border get their hands on, ending up with skirts,...........and visors,.............and sirens,........and all kinds of other doodads and schlock. But, we'll have to agree to disagree on this car.
-
The skirts for it are right where they should be - OFF the car.

At the projected sale price, I would say you’re nuts to pay it considering it doesn’t have the original short block.

Otherwise its impossible to restore this car and in the end have a car where you can always get your money back when you would sell it.
True with any car you restore.

No Title. Bill of Sale. Last registered 1971 and stored in a barn since then. Solid rig. Interior needs complete replacement. Motor is free. Metal is solid with exception of drivers side lower doors and trunk floor is a bit thin in places. Killer restoration project. Rare as hell. Dual spares, clock in dash, A.M. radio etc. Highly optioned for 1939. Grill louvers open and close mechanically depending on how hot the motor is. Really cool feature.

Hang on to your $2000 until the stock market crashes. Then you can buy anything for pennies on the dollar. Pity the fool who spent $2000 on a car in 1928 only to have the value of it be about 10% after the crash.

Years ago they sold gasoline........today they sell fuel.
Calling it fuel is a stretch. My ‘66 Impala is running a 468 with 10:1 compression. Now, it will run well on premium unleaded, but I can still buy 108 octane leaded gasoline, so I run that. What a sweet smell of the exhaust burning the 108.

First guy to put his money on the table should get the car. Don't play games with offers and waiting to see what the next guy will give you, or trying to play them against each other--that's what auctions are for. 80% of the guys who contact you are not buyers, the one or two who are buyers probably will offer about the same amount and will definitely not pay full asking price. You can hold out and wait for top dollar, but you'll wait for it and show it to a lot of tire-kickers who will waste your time, especially if you're trying to squeeze that last drop out of this particular rock.
First guy to get close ($300 apart, that would be a no-questions-asked "TAKE IT!" for me), sell him the car and be done with it. Your time has value, too.

The quote I’ve heard many times: “Cash talks, bullish— walks.” Should apply in your case. Someone flashes green & it’s close to your price, grab it!

That is a hearse until proven otherwise. Nicely done, but I guess a sbc for sure.
I PM'd the seller & asked what engine & a photo. If I get an answer, I'll post it.

Looks pretty good for the money.

I would think if it was a hearse, it would have a rear door or doors to slide the coffin in.
I like it, but it looks like a really big car.

You and 'rocketraider'. Both your serial number breakdowns are consistent, and 'by the book'.
Indeed, the owner will have complete the process by providing us the Trim Tag information, as well as engine info. As I stated, photos would be helpful, including the interior, to see if the seats do match the Trim Tag.

Ben
First, I'm not an expert by any stretch, but I do have very good reference materials.
Second, the owner isn't the one posting here. I would guess that if the owner can't furnish the information requested, Don Jr. will get it by taking photos or at least writing down the info & posting it.
Third, the owner IS NOT SELLING FOR NOW! If people brushed up on their reading comprehension, they would have read that in one of the early posts. Maybe they were in too much of a rush to browbeat the OP and to show their vast knowledge of the subject at hand.

The code was already deciphered above by an expert.
Which expert would that be? I know the VIN was decoded. I'm waiting on the engine codes. I'm curious about what engine it actually is. Would also like to see the Trim Tag.

Well sorry to trouble folks here. Thank you.

If you'd rather not continue this thread due to some of the comments made by "experts" here, please PM me and I'll try to help you decipher codes and figure out what your buddy has. I'm not an expert, but do know where to look for the information you seek. It's unfortunate that people come across so strong on here sometimes that they end up turning someone like you off. Maybe someone here didn't get what they wanted for Christmas.

First digit 1 = Chevrolet
2nd & 3rd digits 14 = V8
4th & 5th digits 27 = 2 Door Sedan
6th digit 1 = 1971
7th digit W = Willow Run, MI
Last 6 digits 206121 = Production Sequence. This car was number 106,120 in the production line, 106,119 cars before it.
I'm anxious to see the block casting number & the engine ID code from the front pad.
HOW ABOUT SOME PHOTOS?

I am very glad to see the maintenance is finished. I am also jumping for joy happy that I/we don't have to re-learn how to use/navigate this site after the maintenance as some other sites do.
Thank you to whoever did the work & I promise I won't use your name in vain ..................................... ................................................. until I run into a glitch.😁
