Hi, Tomorrow I am done with our food program. Have more info on this car and will verify what he stated about it to make sure I post what is known. Very interesting story I am getting. I have asked the owner to give me the vin number to see what it left the factory so at least start this mystery. The car is packed in his garage and I asked him if I can get to it so I can record the casting number, and front pad numbers of the engine. Thanks.
How about if I can get to it to buy it from him? It's not doing him or anyone else any good packed away in his garage.

George, do you know the origin?
No, I don't. I've never seen it written in a textbook or other learning materials when I was in school for painting & decorating, but we learned about mixing too many colors in too small an area. Also, the theory was in play quite often when working with interior decorators & interior designers, but never specifically mentioned as such. "The 5 color theory."

Matt, I wish it was my theory. I forget who told me, someone at Hershey. Steve, was that you? Walt?
Five color theory states that you can’t have more than five colors on the car or it looks stupid. That includes the black on the outer tire, the white wall, the wheel color, pinstriping, interior, top, fender color, and body color.
White walls just add an extra color for no reason. I hate them with a burning firey passion, but this is a logical argument against them.
Walt can probably explain the five colors, maybe he’s the one that told me?
That theory isn't just for cars. Having been a painting & decorating contractor since 1981, and painting for 50+ years, the theory can be and is used in fields requiring color selections.

The wheels in this photo are too busy - 4 different colors within a 16-18" diameter circle; 5 colors in whatever diameter circle with the tire. I think given the color of the car, it will be damn hard to get a color or colors for the rims that will look good. There's just too much white. Was that bright white a factory color?

Oops, Forgot to answer. Supposed to have had high performance small block 375 H.P. but car has a 300 H.P. engine now according to him. I have not seen car yet. So block numbers / casting date may shed light on this. I will pull a valve cover to check head casting numbers too. Verify transmission numbers and posi rear end info. It is a 12 bolt unit with correct leaf springs and sway bar setup.
I would sure appreciate seeing and reading all the information you get off the car, engine, etc. Perhaps you know the locations of the engine numbers and codes, but if not, see the photo I attached. If your friend doesn’t mind, some photos would be great also. We like photos here.

As long as it's in the shop, have them install a hitch so we can haul a trailer load of the goodies we find.😁

Guys got a thing for suitcases and trunks. I love to snoop thru that kind of stuff.
Also love the bird cage.
What is that airplane/kite thing on the roof?
Kite thing looks kinda like Wright brothers model. Did you spot the old chainsaw? How about you & I go down there and pick the place? I want to see the other cars anyway.

1937 Nash Ambassador Twin Ignition 6. Ran when parked but that was obviously a long time ago. I rode to Petite Jean Mnt Arkansas in this car back in the late 80s. There's 3 other 37 Nashes available. Another rough 37 sedan, a straight 8 Ambassador and an extremely rare 37 Rumble seat Cabriolet. One of 5 or so known to exist.

40 years ago that car would find a home and eventually make it back on the road. These days I’m not so sure of that. But it is a pretty neat car.
You could still restore it. Just need about a quarter million to do it.

Workshop regulations in regard to paint and shop safety are one thing, then there is the total disregard for the emission controls on some of these cars. Totally illegal and setting a perfect example for impressionable minds.
The shows I watch have cars that are exempt because of their age.

"...In lovely running order," is contradictory to "the engine does not start due to missing battery!" Which is it?
I'll just keep posting them when I find them and it's up to you boys to pick them apart.😁

A very cool car that was unfortunately restored during the beige/orange era of the hobby.
The first photo with the dog is his current ad photo. The other 3 are from his earlier posts. Maybe he figured out that those 3 may it look like what he's doing - flipping it.
How about the wealth of information provided also?

Just watched part of an episode of Fantom Works. Guy sanding on a 1973 Corvette with no mask/respirator. I see this bonehead move all the time on various shows - doing bodywork and breathing in all that wonderful dust. Probably smoke too to encourage the lung cancer to develop more quickly. Another one is spraying in street/work clothes with no spray suit. The Fantom Works I watched was installing a hemi in a Challenger. guy is standing & slightly leaning backwards over a fender so he's between a 1000 pound engine and the fender. A hoist malfunction or weak link in the chain & he'd be taking a dirt nap or mangled for life.
It seems almost every show has someone pulling a bonehead move or screwing around because he's a suck up to the owner/star of the shop. (Kindig's foreman is a good example)
