Radio Delete Plate / Panel....Clock delete panel
gmdbhornet replied to pyntre's topic in Buick Riviera
My 65 Riv is a radio delete car. Some genius cut the plate up and installed a after market radio, which I tossed in the trash. I still have the plate but its ruined. My passenger side fender does not have the hole in it for the antenna. -
I would check the two wires which attach to the coil. Make sure they are not frayed and if they are it would make your car run terrible. I had a similar problem with a Pontiac and changed everything and found one of the wires from the coil was the problem. Gerry

All, I had my 65 Riv wheels rechromed at a place in California called Southbay Chrome a subsidiary of Classic Components. Chrome Plating Company |Chrome Plating Service | Chrome Plating Shops | Classic Components I called several places before I found them and no-one wanted to rechrome steel wheels. I paid $200.00 a wheel a few years ago plus shipping to and from. I painted mine myself first with etching primer and then paint. I just have to say the chrome job was excellent and would send other parts to them. Gerry<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

My father owned a 1952 Buick 2-door Riviera, which he purchased in 1956. The car was from New York and he owned it for about 8 years. He was showing me photos of the car and he said he would love to have the car now. I then asked him if he had the vin # so we could attempt to locate to see if someone still owned it. He did not have the Vin# so it was a dead issue. This was about two months ago and today he called me and located the registration for the car from 1957, so I told him I would put the Vin# on the forum to see if anyone owns the car. This could be a long shot, but you never know. It would be really amazing if the car was located so all you 1952 Buick owners check your Vin #'s. Also is there any other way to locate classic cars from a Vin # The vehicle serial # is 36619424 and the engine ID # is 68399875

I purchased the one from CARS and sent it back. It did not fit properly and I did not like the color. I did this a few years ago and not sure if they improved it. I did purchase the one from Clarks and it fit perfect and color is nice. I agree it is too expensive and knowing what I know now I would of made my own. Gerry

Middleman I had my transmission resealed in my 65, which consisted of removing the transmission and replacing all the seals not a rebuild. It was about $400.00 and they checked everything when they had it out. The shop I took it to has been in business since the 60's and are honest.

Ed, Where can I find a copy of that article. I would like to read it. Thanks Gerry

I will check to make sure it is solid and let you know. I also sent you a PM a few days ago and sent a PM to others. I am not sure if you or the others got it. Thanks Gerry

Still having the same problem and have not figured it out yet. I am suspecting it is the exhaust because that was changed during the same time the transmission was removed and resealed. I wish I had and answer for everyone. I will figure it out because its driving me crazy and I will let everyone know.

I have a brand new carpet from Auto Custom Carpets for a 1965 Buick Riviera. The color is 09-medium blue and it is a few years old. It has never been installed, but both front sections have a small area that is slightly discolored where it meets the rear carpet. If interested send me your email and I will send you photos. $100.00 plus shipping. Thanks Gerry
