I pulled my starter on my 1934 50 series. It would crank good and start but after driving and warming up, on a restart it will sometimes slowly crank over like it was dragging. I would again crank it and then it started right up.. We have taken it apart but nothing is showing up.. So we are doing a cleaning and everything looks good.. I question the numbers on the starter.. There is no tag on the starter body but on the starter switch mounted on top there is a Delco tag.. #1513 15 725.. I couldn't find the 50 series starter motor serial number in the Master Parts Book listed.. Would the 40 series be used on my 1934 50 series motor?

I had a Stearns Knight coupe that looked worse than this and the motor was shot, but I sold it back in 1978 for $18,000..

ok, but what is the actual function of this cover? Is it just a access to the top of the manifold ?

Well, I found out it is a top to a LaSalle intake manifold... but I don't know what year..

A friend of mine has this what looks like a step plate for a LaSalle but not for sure. Would anyone identify it for him.. Measures 4 1/2" diameter..

I found several CLUM switches on Ebay.. Clum made many different types for a variety of vehicles , boats, and airplanes.

I don't see this fitting a Model T. The T had a different switch size.. but thanks for your input...
