  1. Thanks Ken, that thought came to me in the middle of the night!
  2. 1-29-17 Update: Well I've made a lot of progress on my trans mount. I must write that the ring from Macs was a perfect fit AND no trimming was even necessary because the cutouts in the ring were only needed on one side. Here are some pictures and it looks good to me, but I'm an amature here and maybe I missed sommething. Please take a close look since there is a problem - I think. When I bolted the U-joint "collar" over on top of the metal shroud covering the U-joints, the cork gasket is still probably 1/16" away from the shroud itself. I assumed it would draw tight when I mounted the mount to the transmission to the transmission body and it did not - is this normal??? I know there is needed room for movement, but please take a look at the last pictures; this seems too much. Anyway, please take a look at the pictures and let me know what you all think.
  3. Ken, I'll be needing the whole filter and cartridge probably. I'm saying probably because I'm going to be buying a rebuilt engine and I certainly want an oil filter!
  4. Thanks once again Ken, I need the whole enchilada, although it looks like now I need a whole engine or just sell the car. My engine man said it needs everything, maybe even the block. :-(

  6. Thanks Roy, and I'm pretty sure the one I got from MAC's will work perfectly. I will post pics as I proceed.
  7. Hi folks, anyone have a picture of what the correct oil filter looks like for my 1937 Zephyr?? My car did not have one, but with a rebuilt engine, I most definitely am going to install one and if I'm going to do it, why not get the correct one??? Thanks in advance.
  8. Thank you to Ken and Tom, I ordered the ring as you suggested and it looks as if it will work out perfectly! I will have to do some trimming but the ID and OD are a perfect match. Because the rubber was so tight, I place the whole mount in boiling water for about 10 minutes - then it came right out. So, it will cost me around $65 with shipping instead of $475 plus shipping. Thanks again!!
  9. Ken & Tom, Thanks guys very much. I called Eckler's and confirmed that the rubber ring has a groove in it to hold it in place, just like my Zephyr original. Hopefully I will be able to pry it off and after some trimming, have it look and perform like an original part. I will let you know if it works out.

  11. Thanks Tom, that could be the ticket. I'll call them tomorrow. $475 for a rubber mount? I don't think so.
  12. Tom, thanks, I'm going to read more about these, sounds like it might be the way to go.
  13. Yes Ken I think he does but at over $400, I have to look at an alternatives.
  14. Guys I have checked with Alan and he is puzzled on this rubber ring and may not be able to find one. If these are just unavailable, anyone know who can make a mold or show me how to make a mold?? More than 1/2 of the ring in in great shape. Any input will be helpful. From what I can see, this is an original as the trans IS a matching number to the car itself.
  15. Thanks Ken, I've worked with Allan in the past with great results. I will call him tomorrow.
  16. Guys I need gaskets, trans/motor mount and paint for the 3 speed trans in my 1937 Zephyr. Please tell me these are available from someone - who should I turn to??? Thanks in advance.
  17. Thanks guys, it is a beautiful car that I will surely miss but I'm out of room and it needs to go.
  18. Thank you John and Ive wondered that myself. I will say that at that time the Lincoln that had the "sizzle" was the Mark III, not the standard Lincoln. That being said as time goes by, I find the big Lincoln's understated looks much more appealing than the Mark III. Of course, that's just one man's opinion.
  19. This is a rare and beautiful car. Florida based, there is zero rust. Drives beautifully. I'd like $12K, but the first decent offer and the car is sold! 60,000 original miles. Almost every option and all work. Call me, 847-997-9944 and I'll tell you all abut it. I just purchased a 1977 Lincoln Coupe today and that' why I'm selling this car.
  20. Thanks guys, the engine is being done my Mark Wustrack of JK Automotive in Madison WI. He is extremely knowledgeable on these engines with a sterling reputation. I feel I'm in good hands and he is boiling the the block and then we'll take it from there. Come Spring, I'm DRIVING this car. :-)
  21. Since the engine is out and apart, I like to inspect or rebuild the water pumps, starter etc. Any specific recommendations? Am I missing something??
  22. I'd like to locate a 1937 oil filter, radiator temp sending unit, anyone have these?
  23. Dave was very kind and showed much patience with me (a V-12 newbee) a couple of years ago when I bought my Zephyr. Truly one of the most knowledgeable Lincoln men on Earth. He will be missed.
  24. Ken, Yes, with the bolt removed, a few taps of a hammer with a block of wood and off came the puller and damper!
