  1. Extra line. Damn auto correct. Just find a diner car to pull the parts from. You will have to shorten the diner lines by like six inches. You can also use cadets and olds as donors.
  2. Extant line to the rear and swap pedals. That is it.
  3. Might be a good time to switch to the 91house setup, like I did. Chucks/oreileys used to carry it. I would try rockauto.com they seem to have alot of hard to find parts.
  4. Long run it will be alot cheaper and more reliable to get the full engine. Just read F14's, aka Philip's post on the top half conversion.
  5. There are only two things the computer cares about, as far as wheels and tires go. First and most important is that they are all the same size. Second, this is for the speedo, they are with in a close margin of the original diameter.
  6. Yes the cat is restrictive, but in my experience mpg is a lot better with it on. Like 5 mpg better. I believe this is bc the cat slows down the exhaust so the o2 can get a better reading. If the exhaust is not held for a second then the o2 sensor will see less oxygen in the fuel causing the eclipse to throw more into the engine. Also any power gains a very minimal as the choke point in these cars(stock) is the intake. If you want these cars to have a large amount of gain spend the 2000 and drop in a supercharged motor.
  7. I do not need a exact interchange. Just a starting point for a series three and six speed swap.
  8. Is your car a 90/91 or 88/89? I do not thing the 88/89 would have one. Also the 90/91 probably used the communications bus to tell the display what to put up. If you need a tach input I would grab the one you found.
  9. I figured some one here would know. I guess I will be measuring it this weekend.
  10. Ok I am getting ready to start on the series3/2 six speed mock up. I would like to drive my care while workin on the engine cradle engine mounts. Needless to say on this island E-body cars in our era are hard to find, and pricey to get to here. I have found a 89 deville and want to know if the sub frame has the same mounting pattern and if all the control arms line up the same. Also any other differances that may affect the project. I know the mount points for the engine will be off but I think the cradle/subframe have the same dementions.
  11. It would also work on all other e body cars so the market is bigger than you think. I believe the k body of the Seville would work on it also.
  12. i would just check the plug going to the CPS.
  13. I am getting ready to do this swap also. I will stay in touch if you are going to be doing it soon. have you got a price for the axles? Dutch brothers out of portland, OR said around 500 for any thing I wanted.
  14. Back to the original question. The kenwood kos-1000v or kos-500v work very well and can be made as custom as you like. I picked my last kos-1000v up on ebay (new) for 300the dollars. Looks and sound great. Plusses you can still use the stock deck and controls.
  15. It should work but you WILL most likely have to find a radio brain out of an other gm vehicle that came with the slave cd player. I would look for a truck, caddy, or a regal custom. Anything 95to or older will work bc they used the same e&c (entertainment and climate ) bus.
  16. No I have one out of a 90 own and the glass shop tried to tell me it would not fit my 89. I was wondering if there was any changes between years.
  17. Did they change the dimensions of the windshields at all?
  18. The Reatta ECM is not able to control the ECR from the SCed engines. If you really want to keep an EGR you will have to make an adapter for the Reatta ECM to fit the SCed engine.
  19. Just thougt I would throw this out there. http://forums.aaca.org/f116/whats-your-story-256574.html
  20. I have replaced, rebuilt, serviced, and watched people wreck their Reattas from these failing. They should be recalled, but there are not enogh of them and time has let GM off the hook for them. I do agree it is a good system...... If you want to have some one maintain it for you take it to a diesel shop as the type of system was used much more extensively in diesels. Not even your local GM shops "usally" know what they are dealing with and certainly are not proficiant on them. Also not one teck I have spoke with knew how to bleed them. Over all for the everyday mechanic and daily driver not doing their own work the standard vaccuum system is a much more reliable and trouble free system. As for my car, when I purchased it it was on its way to car heven or just scrap, so I have no remorse not having the teeves. One other thing the system had failed me twice almost killing me both times. I am not a small man and I could not get the car to stop. That being said I would never let my family ride in one with the teeves, even if its designer was the one who seviced the system. On the other hand if you are looking for a fail safe way to collect a large life insurance pay out.......
  21. I know it is not a sales section, but I do not want to just turn these in for scrap. I have 5 original wheels and 4 covers for sale with four tires less than 10K miles on them (goodyear eagle II). They are not perfect, would make great travel or winter wheels. I want to get rid of them here before my move to HI, bc they will not be coming with me. Make me an offer.

  23. It took alot of schmatic reading, but not as much as you would think. Most of the wiring can be done at the connection to the ABS brain in the trunk. Then I used the abs relay in the front to power the abs box unit from the 91s. I am in the middle of moving and came accross my notes from doing the swap. If I have during the move I will do the write up. I know have let a few down by not doing sooner, but my time has not beem "mine" the last three years. If you can read a schematic most of the info is in the FSM on reatta.net.
  24. Yes I have. And love it, still haven't got the abs light to function correctly but I can live with that.
  25. The rear 96 caddy brakes bolt up and no fabbing any parts.
