  1. I have also been pondering this. I am in the middle of my engine tranny swap and need to find a set of the craddle bushings. I figure if there are newer ones that will work they were modified for a reason. I would love to fine a polyurathane replacement. If I had the resources here I would go pull a few to find out, but there are only a few yards on this island
  2. For all those wanting to "match" the oem speakers, I would try partsexpress.com they carry almost anything you want in speakers and are fair on the price. Also as stated be fore get some entry level 4 ohms you will be happy with the sound you get, if you were happy with the stock, and the oem wattage is no more than 15 watts rms as the amplifier chip they used cannot put out more than that.
  3. I just thought I would add this. GMPARTSDIRECT.com said they will not take the parts back even know it is their catolog that gives the wtong part number. Needles to say I will not be doing anymore business with this company.
  4. Sorry if any one already has ordered these. I just receive my order after a 21 day wait and the part is incorrect. Judging by the slow shipping I most likely will not be ordering any thing from gmpartsdirect.com again. That is unless they impress me with outstanding and hassle free return proccess and some great customer service, kind of not expecting it now.
  5. If you are an audiophile and like the touchscreen you will not find a better solution than the one I gave you. I was not joking about the 5k in equipment. The best solution will cost an other 10k, maybe when I retire...... or learn to re-engineer electronics myself. Also there is an aux in and it is easy to use, but you are still stuck with the bass roll off. I did a whole post on it a long time ago.
  6. Here is what I used after about $5,000 in diffrent equipment from almost evey company, JL, Alpine, ect.. All fell short of my over all goals. keenwood keenwood kos v1000 keenwood audio kenwood sound spkrs honda toyota for | eBay Kenwood Video Box KOS-CV100 | eBay If fits under the driver seat, you can use any raw screen with the vga adapter, or you can find one of the touch screens they make for it. A 7 inch screen mounts nicely where the tape deck is. It can expand to almost any thing you can think of; from ipods, to hdds. Also I have my factory radio connected so all of its functions work and sound great through the kenwood. If you want a cheaper solution they also sell a kos-v500, it does pretty much the same things with a lower end audio section. I can get a new 500 for $175 from the online aafes store.
  7. make sure the balancer did not break. sounds crazy but I had it happened a little after I installed one it broke into three peaces and was not turning so the CPS was not getting a signal.
  8. I had bought my direct fit a couple years ago to under $100.
  9. I agree that it was most likely the cat, but I think there is another issue involved. The O2 sensor not working properly was most likely sending extra fuel through the system, causing abnormally hot exhaust tempitures. My advice is replace both the cat and the O2. The car will run better and she will not risk having it happen again.
  10. That car needs me. All these years and has only been enjoed for 8,000 miles, poor thing. On the other hand some people may say it should be incased in a glass bottle and sit. for another 20 years. PSS cars are made to be driven. If they were made to sit then they would have left the motor out.

  12. I would find a donor car as I do not believe the two rear cables are the same. The other thing you need is the adjuster for the sts. other than using two of the same side calipers it is a direct bolt on.
  13. All that fabrication. You could of done a bolt on upgrade using the 96 caddy brakes and got the same size disks and results with out one bit of cutting, grinding, or welding. Just saying.
  14. The 91 uses four lines. not three if you move to three you will risk throwing off the pressure going to the rear. I do agree with many of the people here on the teeves being a good system, but I also know the maintenace required for it is much more than most people are use to. Thus causing many of the failures seen here. Also price is almost always a factor.
  15. Yep, did it even updated the abs. The swap to vacuum is not too bad. The abs wiring is a little more tricky. You will need to use parts off a 91 riviera or fwd Cadillac. You have to run a new line to the rear and get the porpotionong valve for the rear line. Also need the master cylinder, booster, and pedal (or you can extend the plate on the existing pedal)
  16. I just texted him about that. Also no not many people do a rod bearing swap any more. Kind of sad as less than $100 bucks can fix an engine instead of replacing one. On the other hand newer engines have very tight specs and a bearing jobs do not always work for long. With that said I just did one on a 3.4 grand am and have not had any issues with it at 1000 miles.
  17. Code E026 hmm programed out of my ECM when I did thmmm quad something or other...... tried to fix it for year or so. Finaly I had it programmed out when I did the sc swap. It never caused any unwanted performance in my car and I never found the cause, I am pretty sure it was in the ECM sensing itself.
  18. 4.5 inches on five is only .3 mm off (on center) from 115mmthe on five hence why we can run mustang rims, as I and a few others are doing. Also most of the after market wheel manufacture don't even differentiate between the two.
  19. The bolt patters are so close that the after maket disks are the same as the 115mm bolt patern found on our cars and most gm FWD (like the park ave). Below is a link scroll down and click on compatibility. BrakeBest Select 56641RGS - Brake Rotor | O'Reilly Auto Parts
  20. Why is eveyone having trouble with cam magnets? I have never had an issue with them. Also I find most aftermarket ones have an enclosed magnet. So go to a couple stores and find one that is enclosed. Also check you wire connections as the wire routing on it is in an odd.
  21. Yes It is here with me. Parts are even harder to come by here.
  22. Anyone guess what this is?
  23. I did not post this earlier, as it took me a long time to find these, and I had to make sure I got a set for myself. I had even made some myself at one point. 24. those are for the front. not the rear. The rear are completely diffrent.
  25. also check you grounds. Make sure it is bolted tight.
