1. I have a 90 and it has the 3800 on the cover in red. Joe
2. I would try a different battery or bypass it using jumper cables. Maybe the battery has a short in it, you mentioned the charger light normally flashes when the batteries fully charged, and now it's a solid green. It's sounds like something minor causing this. Joe
3. I'm trying to remove my cd player also. I was able to remove the trim pieces starting with taking out the console compartment black felt liner, that just snaps out. Then you can access the two screws underneath the front lip of the liner. The rest is pretty straightforward or obvious. My problem is I wasn't able to get to the two screws holding the cd player in, they're covered by the dash vinyl material. I didn't go any further because it looked like part of the dash would have to be removed. Hopefully I'm wrong about that. I'm curious how others have gotten theirs out. Joe
4. Happy Birthday, That's a nice present, next summer will be here before you know it. Joe

Noises

DeeBee, I can't help with the front noise, but the rear brake pads on mine were rattling when hitting bumps. When the brakes were applied it stopped. I took the pads off and put some Disc Quiet I think it's called, it's orangeish red in color, and that took care of it. I didn't replace the pads because they still looked good. It didn't take that long to do and got rid of that annoying noise, it just made the car sound old or junky. Joe
6. Thanks Ed, I'm guessing the hoses are original. I didn't realize there were 5 hoses,I missed the crossover one. I did bleed the rear brakes and stopped when I noticed the front hoses were cracked,I didn't want to do the job twice. The brake fluid looked pretty dirty that's why I was bleeding the brakes to change the fluid. Take Care, Joe
7. I just replaced the struts on the car, what a fun job, I'm glad it's done though. I noticed the front brake hoses have quite a few cracks in the rubber coverings. Do you think they should be changed or is it just the outer covering that's craking? I think I already now the answer but just wanted others opinions. The hoses aren't expensive and it looks like a fairly easy job. I bought the speed or ez bleeders at Pep Boys and those make bleeding the brakes a lot easier. Joe
8. Sorry to hear about that. I keep my garage locked now too, the area has grown a lot and it's more like living in the city than a suburb of Chicago. Fortunately they didn't vandalize your car, that would really be upsetting. Joe
9. I hope you make it too, as do I. That's pretty cool that your son was born on Super Bowl Sunday and Green Bay won. I'm sure he's a Packers fan. I liked your cheesehead comment, pretty funny stuff! Joe
10. I'm sorry I missed it, it sounds like it was a good show and the weather was great. You would think they would have a separate class for the newer cars. I was working on changing the struts and was hoping to be done on Saturday, yeah right. Maybe next year. Joe
11. Tammy, Are you going? I'll were a cheeshead if you do.
12. It sounds like a good time, I live in the Chicagland area so it's not to far. Are Chicago Bears fans welcome? Just kidding. Joe
13. How are the door panels in the car if you noticed? Joe
14. Maybe I'll see you there if the weathers decent. Joe
15. Are you going to this show? Maybe I'll check it out since I don't live that far away. Joe
16. I just changed the actuator on the passenger door and it was a fairly easy job. The hardest part is taking the door panel off or I should say disconnecting the wiring connectors. If you have the new actuator some of the wiring can be left intact and just rest the panel on the ground. It's not a hard job at all and it's nice when the work again. Joe
17. Replacing mine with Monroe Sensatracs. I just received the rears today hopefully the fronts tommorrow. The front part# is 359 71854 and the rear is #359 71966. I bought them from www.rockauto.com and their pricing was the best I found and received them in 2 days with ground shipping. Total price was around $298.00 with shipping for all four. Joe
18. Thanks for the information. I tried what you said and the compressor did start, I need to recharge it, like you said. I used to belong to the ISOA, but that was years ago when I had a TR4. Sorry to hear about your TR6, hopefully no one was hurt. I have a nice TR8 for sale if you're interested. Take Care, Joe
19. My ac compressor is not turning on and the service ac light is on. I check the fuses and they looked good, I don't think I'm getting power to the compressor. Is there another fuse or relay that I'm missing? The compressor could be bad, but I want to make sure before replacing it. Any help is appreciated. I need to buy a repair manual, but haven't yet. Thanks, Joe
20. Thanks guys and gals, I guess I'll leave the struts alone for now until I put some more miles on. I got rid of the annoying rattle from the rear brake pads and had a new exhaust put on, so it seems like it's riding better, it's psychological I guess. Joe
21. The car seems like it should ride better. It just rides a little rough or hard over bumpy roads. I really having noticed any floating, but I haven't had it on any expressway yet. I've only had the car a little over a week now. Take Care, Joe
22. Hello again, I'm getting an error message on my cd player and I need to remove the player. How do you remove the plastic trim around the console? I was afraid of breaking it, so I thought I'd better ask first. Also does changing the struts make a big difference in the ride? I've changed struts on other cars and thought there would be a more noticeable difference in the ride than there was. I'm sure it depends on what brand and type you install also. I guess what I'm asking is, is it worth it? Joe 90 coupe white/burgandy 110K
23. I noticed a rattle when hitting bumps but when braking it went away. A few people mentioned it's probably the rear brake pads. I used some Disc Brake Quiet I think it's called, the orange stuff and they seem to be quiet at least for now, just an FYI. Joe 90 Coupe 110K
24. It sounds like it's the door lock actuator. I have the same problem with my passenger door and I took the door panel off and the actuator wasn't moving and both wires did have power when using the door lock switch using a test light. I ordered one online for about $30, but haven't received it yet. Joe
25. Thanks again for all the great information. You all seem like a nice group of people. I'm sure I'll be posting again soon, but I'll check the archives first. Joe White 90 Reatta,110K
