Thanks DeeBee, for the information. I'm not crazy about ebay anymore either,I listed a car there, (not a Reatta) twice and it was costly and did not sell. The forums ads are free which is nice but it seems like members are somewhat conservative in their spending habits and I'm talking about several different lists I've been on. I'm probably guilty of being the same, but when I'm reselling a car I'm selling it in much better condition than when I bought it, so I try to at least break even,but that doesn't always happen. Joe

If your seeing white smoke, it sounds like maybe your burning trans fluid. Have you checked your trans fluid lately? I can't remember if you changed your trans modulator, if not I would change that. How do your plugs look as far as color, that's an indication too of what's going on internally. Joe

It sounds like the alternator to me too. I had a 92 LeSabre that went threw about 3 alternators, at least their easily changed. Like mentioned in the previuos posts take it off and have it checked at your local parts store. Joe

I would change the O2 sensor too, they're only about a $15.00 item and easy to change. I had a 92 LeSabre with the same engine, the 3800 and it failed due to a bad O2 sensor. Joe

I think there are around 15 different VAT key resistors used. You can measure the ohms on the resistor using a volt meter. I bought the blanks online from www.clksupplies.com for $3.25 ea. and had it cut at my local hardware store. Someone also sells them on ebay and explains how to measure the ohms and what key blank# you would need, mine was a #3 I believe. Joe

I just bought mine recently,September 06. I'm not really sure why I bought it, but I always thought they were really nice looking cars when they came out. My ex brother in law owned one when they first came out and a few years later he hit a deer on a country road in Oxford, Michigan and the air bag deployed and he ended up hitting a tree. I'm not sure if the car was totalled. Anyway, I thought about the Reatta one day and was surprised how affordable they were, and bought one locally with 110K on it. I'm 51 and have owned some fun cars in the past, including Triumphs,Corvette, and just bought a 60 Chevy Apache C10 pick up a week ago. I do enjoy the Reatta, it had a few minor issues when I bought it, but they're corrected now. I was thinking about selling it due to do to many vehicles in the driveway and not enough garage space, but I'll probably keep it. Joe

You need to take off the console plastic trim and the dash plastic trim and remove the lower dash pad to access the cd player screws. I told Brian this but I guess he wanted a second opinion. It's really not to difficult once you do it. Joe

I don't think so, the cd player is a remote unit, so I think it's independant of the radio. I just replaced mine with a rebuilt one for $268.00, but that was with an exchange. Joe

I was able to remove mine from the bottom without removing any mounts, just one bracket. It's a tight fit but doable,it took me about 15 minutes. Remove the old belt first and you'll see what bracket has to be removed. Joe

The muffler shop I use, said he used a intermediate pipe for a Olds Trofeo and it worked fine. I'm not sure if he had to do any cutting or shortening. Joe

How do they handle in snow? I would think pretty decent being front wheel drive.I might drive mine this winter too. Joe

I had the same rattle when I bought my car. It really annoyed me, so I pulled the old pads off and applied Disc Quiet, I think it's called. It's a redish orange color, you can find at any auto parts store, and it cured the rattle. I didn't change the pads because they still looked pretty decent. It was a cheap fix and well worth the effort. Joe

I had a car shipped from Norfolk,VA to LaGrange Highlands,IL a 90 Volvo C70 coupe and it was around $650.00 on an open trailer, and I had the car in about 4 days,I was impressed, and it was during a snowstorm. I think that cars way overpriced, plus you'll have to pay dealer sales tax. I think you'd be better off buying from a private owner, plus you'll have more history on a private owner car. It looks nice but still overpriced. Joe

They should have checked your alignment when the struts were put on. If so they should have noticed if the ball joints or joint was worn. I would jack up the drivers side front tire and see if there's play in the wheel when moving the tire from top to bottom, and it might replicate the noise too. Joe

I had a problem last week with the pass or vat key. I bought a new vat key and bought the wrong one, I guess there are 15 different keys. I had it cut and tried to start the car at the hardware store and the car would not turn over, I think the dash lights came on. I disconnected the battery and reconnected it and used the original key, still nothing. I waited about 5 minutes or so and it started right up. Not sure if this helps you, but I thought I mention it.
