Greetings Forum Folks You can now count me in as a GS owner. Recently purchased a 72 GS 455 original Fire Red with Black Vinyl top. The chassis number correctly identifies the GS and 455 (non Stage 1). It is a Flint car The block casting # is 1238861 with 455 above which is correct I believe The "WF" is stamped correctly between 5 and 7 on top face of the block. So far I think I have a "correct" block. Trying to verify a "matching" engine. 1st question? directly to the right of the "WF" it is stamped "0b4". What is the 0b4? 2nd question? I removed the power steering pump. No Engine number there on front of block on driver side. I used paint remover over on the passenger side in front of the Oil pressure sender. Nothing there either. Do I need to pull timing cover off to find it on the passenger side? Thank you for any input. Also posted over in Performance See you in Springfield Rick

A classmate's dad passed away recently. He was a softspoken long time community servant who always showed up to help at church, Lions Club or where ever there was a need for the community. I went to the visitaion last night and noticed among the family pictures and memorablelia was a patch with the HELLCATT image. Next to the patch was a pic of Abe and his HELLCAT tank crew being greeted by French villagers with obvious enthusiasm. I asked my friend if she knew what that patch was. She said "Dad" never talked about the war (as my dad didn't). She did however recently learn through other Army buddy friends that Abe was the leader of a Tank Team. Not sure if that meant Captain or something similar. The picture was supposedly just prior to the liberation of Paris. I explained to her about the HELLCAT Tanks and that I had seen one in the Sloan in Flint. The family was quite interested. She also told me that Abe was on the "First Wave" on Normandy Beach. This also was learned from Army buddy families. Yet, through all that he saw there he never wanted his family durdened with that. According to my research the HELLCAT M18 entered the Europeon Theator about that time. So it would seem the whole story comes together. Peace to our friend Abe. Oh and he always drove Buicks

HI LAMAR, It is sheduled to be posted on the 4th of each month as that date is when most in the Continental U.S. recieve their Bugle by mail. Posting in a archive is a great idea. Not sure if there would be a memory space issue. If there is not a counter on views per edition that should be able to be added. That would be a interesting number to reference. While contacting other Clubs during this process with similar demographics the number of members actually viewing a eCopy is fairly low, like around 15%. Perhaps eGuru Bill S. could give better answers. Bill...........

GREETINGS ALL, Approximately 4 years ago the BCA Board chose to forgo the winter Board Meeting in order to save about $7,000.00 in annual expenses. With that came a increasing amount of business that has been conducted by email or conference calls. These motions are discussed at the General Membership Meeting and Board Meeting during the National Meet. Realizing not everyone can attend the National Event the Board wishes to keep all members in the loop. While there is not a Standard Operating Procedure in place to deal with this topic we feel the best venue to notify all members is by posting them on the BCA Website. There will also be a notice of this in the October Bugle. Please note minutes/motions must be verified by the Secretary and then approved by vote. As the Secretary is a volunteer position it sometimes take a bit to accomplish this. Kris Syrdal did a excellent job in the past and now Jerry Courson serves that position. Yes, The SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) are in the back of the Roster. A new one coming this summer. As to the Topic at hand; I am old enough to know and accept that not everyone in this world is love with Rick Young. Most of you I have met over the past 7 years. Some have been to my hometown and a few have dined in my garage. If you brought a Reatta to Jewell in 2010 I personally bought your dinner (at $752.00) as The Reattas won my President's Challenge for membership. To most of you, I consider you friends and some it seems I've known for 50 years, although how could that be. I think for those who have met me you would know I am not a vindictive person. I chose to run for President one last time because this old fart has one more year of giving. I have no plans to put the BCA on "pause" for the next year. This old fart has a few more ideas to help the BCA and my friends in it. Brian has done a awesome job and he will be around a long time. He has done so much, as recognized here. This will be my "Swan Song" as I have other challenges to face in the near future. There are bridges and fences to be repaired. I plan on traveling to work on those in person. So indulge me if you will for one last year. Together we can accomplish much. There is a new beginning in the BCA now running National Meets. There will be a few bugs to be worked out, but in the end the BCA will be better and stronger for that. I just visited the Oldsmobile Club National in Des Moines where they had a "all indoor" meet. The temp outside was 100F and 72F inside. A interesting concept. So anyway, I hope that clears some air. Regards to you all

The BCA Board of Directors voted on Friday June 29th, 2012 to allow The Heartland and Great Lakes Regions to have a Tour in conjunction the 2013 National Meet in South Bend, Indiana. This will satisfy their obligation for having a annual Regional Meet in 2013. Besides it sounds like a wonderful idea.

Lamar and Bob what a beautiful sight. I believe you might say a few people seen on the big screen got to rub elbows with 2 of the classiest gents anywhere. Aka Bob and Lamar.
