  1. Dave & Steve, Thanks for the help. It is now posted on the MOPAR Buy/Sell list.
  2. OK experts...what year and model is this for?
  3. I sent some photos directly to his email address that could not be posted full size on the forum. Send me your direct email address and I will send them to you. Thanks,
  4. Lamar, No, I can still look.... I just can't buy until I find a way to make room for another Buick. I already park my open trailer at my daughter's house, but my enclosed trailer is still here in my side yard & empty for now....
  5. My son needs two bottom hinges for the rear doors on his 29 Standard 116 Series Buick. Please email directly to Scott Shaw E-mail Address(es): scott.shaw@floorcoveringsinternational.com
  6. Bob, The phone number is for Walker, MN 56484-2023
  7. Larry, I checked with Bud Rex in Portland OR, and he indicated that you could call or email him about your car. Bud Rex E-mail Address: xraybb@comcast.net
  8. Yesterday I trailered home the latest and perhaps final addition to my Buick collection. I bought Pat Jacob's 38 Model 48 two door sedan. The first photo is of me (on the left with the big grin) and Jack Gerstkemper who helped me load and unload the car. Pat wrote several "Torque Tube" articles about this car over the years, and did a great job maintaining this mostly original unrestored car. It currently has just over 39,000 original miles and runs and drives like new. Pat installed 37 Century ring & pinion gears to make it cruise nicely at just under 60 mph. It has also been re-painted in original Whistler Grey, but still has the original interior in very good condition. Even the windlass at the base of the driver's door (where your feet usually hit when getting in) is like new. Last night, I went through all the receipts Pat kept for work done on the car and was amazed at how much he put into this car. Nice job Pat. I can only hope to take care of this car like Pat did. But I am sure it won't be a low mileage car when I am done with it...
  9. You are not an idiot for driving your car! You are a true enthusiast! Way to go..... See if you can get others to join a caravan. There is safety in numbers...
  10. Larry, I forwarded your request to Bud Rex, the owner of one of the Seabiscuit cars in Portland OR. It is a 90 series 31 Buick. You can look him up in the BCA roster.
  11. Just an awesome car! Nice backround too....
  12. Looks a lot like my 24 Buick Master Six, but my fenders do not have screws in them. I could not add a photo, so email me if you want some photos. durcodude@comcast.net
  13. Suchan, Thanks, I will post some photos on the "Me & My Buick" forum after I get the car home.
  14. My 13 thru 31 Buicks run nicely between 40-45 MPH. I consider that to be good cruising speed for tours etc. I just bought a 38 model 48 last weekend at the All Buick Show in Puyallup WA. It is an all original un-restored 39,000 mile car except for a repaint and a few electrical items that can easily be changed (sealed beams & new voltage regulator). It also has a Century rear end that the previous owner advised would run about 5 mph faster than the speedo reads. He said the original rear end ran 5 mph slower than the speedo reads. I can't wait to pick it up this Thursday.... (Note photo of the two guys in straw hats dickering....) So, now I guess I have officially run out of parking space......
  15. 1977 Buick Electra Limited, 2 door sedan. $2000 One owner. Complete operation and maintenance records. Never wrecked. Everything works except the clock. Like new interior, needs detailing. Exterior was firethorn red, needs new paint. High miles but has always run great. Engine and transmission have been rebuilt. Includes chassis and body manuals. A little fix up will make this a beautiful car again, but I'm not a collector. I'd like the space in my garage back, but I want my first new car to have a good home. I believe I still have the window sticker for the car. But it is not handy. 64/40 front seats, driver's seat is 6-way power 350 cid engine, cruise control white landau vinyl top power windows and door locks AM/FM Stereo Radio AC still works (at least it did last summer) Actual mileage is 190,000 + Cash Only Please! Call Tim (360) 798-8967 or email: TMac4Sale@msn.com
  16. I am on a business trip and have a LaCrosse rental car. I picked up two other guys at the Nashville airport and drove about an hour in the car. They both love the ride and the guy from W.Va. asked how I managed to get a "leathered up Buick". It is a great road car.
  17. Steve, Six or twelve volt batteries will have the same life expectancy when maintained in the same way. If you always store your cars with the batteries on a float charger, you may get another few of years out of them. My 2 Cents...
  18. Jules, Americanized version of "Dampers" is Shocks?
  19. Jules, I sent photos of my spare grab ropes in a PM. Since you did not respond, I will post them here too. They are from a 50 series and are different from yours, but I have a pair. Please let me know if you want them. You can send a PM to durcodude@comcast.net

  22. (Like you, I have only seen the photos); But it appears to be a crack in the water jacket on #1 cylinder. I have seen them successfully "stitched" together and I have seen them sealed with JB weld. That area only gets up to 212 degrees, so JB weld may work OK. Here is another photo of the tranny:
  23. Call around to find the plugs. John Deere may stock them for old tractors too.
